I think they will probably send Liljegren down, waive Brooks (with sincere hope that he clears) and rotate Spezza, Engvall and Simmonds through the press box.

And waive Biega, Gabriel and any others I've missed who aren't playing tonight, too.

Looking like Mik gonna get his shot in the top 6. Kinda makes sense given he is our 2nd highest paid LWer and Bunting doesn't have enough games played to be given the spot over Mik to start.

Agreed, but I don't think it will last long unless he finds his scoring touch.

You can't let too many plays die on his stick, on a scoring line.

I think he is going to do well in the top 6. All he needs to do is use his speed on the forecheck and make passes to 91 and 88

Agreed but let's say Bunting starts off lighting the lamp playing with Kerfoot, do you flip him him and Mik? I say probably not.

So the Leafs are going to force Dermott to his off-side to keep Sandin over Liljegren... When Liljegren has been the better player.

Liljegren sure must regret taking that 400k performance bonus.

I think this is a "show me" night for Dermott.

If anything, it should be one for Sandin. He's been the worst between himself and Dermott/Liljegren. I'm not going to say by a significant margin, but it definitely hasn't been a close call either. He has looked about as good as Menell, except Menell is a much better skater right now...

So for some reason the Leafs are plopping their 8th best defenseman on the depth chart in the 5 or 6 hole even though he is waiver exempt and can benefit from playing 22+ all-around minutes a night on the Marlies.

That 1st line is odd

How so? Kampf clearly standing in for Matthews so the other lines remain intact to start building their chemistry. When AM34 is back, Kampf slides down to the 4th line and Engvall comes out.

Another chance to see if Kampf can play up the lineup during the season if needed. Would seem to be the best option to me as we prepare for Game 1 of the season.

That 1st line is odd
They trying to get kamph some goals and situations where he gets that heart going. Like offensive minded dirt sire. Succeeding on different thangs than defensive game... therefore he is weirdly inserted on the first line, just this one time. They showing him appreciation.

I would like to see bunting as a thug in our tavares line when the season begins sire. Lets see if sire keefe does that, or goes with the not hot hand (mikheyev) who never scores from anywhere. Bunting would score 30 with us, if plays with tavares. Mikheyev would not. Lets see if keefe wants to win badly this season, or not. I'ma see to it, and invest based on it.

I prefer Liljegren over Sandin, too. I don't make the lineups: I'm just trying to read the tea leaves here.

If the Leafs do start the season with Sandin over Liljegren -- as I suspect they will -- then I think it has less to do with Liljegren's bonuses and more to do with Morgan Rielly's contract. If Sandin is in, it is more than likely to find their comfort level with not re-signing Rielly, or even trading him in-season to clear salary cap and roster space.

Here, I wouldn't rule anything out.

If Mik is killing plays I flip them with zero hesitation. If Bunting lights it up with Kerfoot imagine what he'd do with a line mate upgrade and also the boost effect it will have on JT-Nylander. I don't know if I can handle another year of Nylander passes getting screwed it's time for this guy to hit 80 points.

Apparently Keefe thinks many plays can be destroyed on mikheyev stick. Lets see if our boyz and thugz will still win gezames. Its possible, but not likely if our second line will not be scoring-a-lot.

Liljegren, Liljegren, Liljegren. Liljegren, Liljegren, Liljegren.
That said, so Liljemaniacs (and me too actually) need to hope for an injury for someone to get him some games?

Re Matthews: Rest him some more games. We don't need him against MTL or OTT and it gives other players the chance to shine in a more prominent/offensive role.

Mathews was supposedly going to be out for 6 weeks, we are now starting the 9th week. Me thinks all is not going well.
