Not sure where the narrative comes from when it comes to leafs not playing well against Helly. Excluding Wednesdays win they are 7-3 in their last 10 against the jets scoring 36 goals. Pretty sure he was in for most if not all of them.

Nice GDT.

Funny though how other teams seem to put way too much effort into their GDTs against us. It’s almost like we’re the center of the hockey universe or something.

The one thing I find funny is the false equivalency with missing Scheifele. Jets fans will be like "imagine the Leafs without Matthews" as if those are equal losses just because its both of our best players.

Scheifele is a nice player. Exactly PPG. Our guy is a Hart trophy winner and potential finalist for the third time, on pace for the most goals in 30+ years. These are not the same lol.

The problem for the Jets is that they don't really have a lot of other offensive weapons, especially since Kyle Connor doesn't look like he is 100% yet either. That team desperately needs more scoring.

He may not be Matthews, but he is a very important player and a very good one
They built their offense around him and Connor. So missing him disrupts their PP, their forecheck.

Especially for a team that's offensively challenged. Not to mention they were also missing Vilardi. Vilardi has been great find for them.

Jarnkrok being week to week, however the f*** long that is, is much worse than just Reaves getting back in. One of the only players on forward who’s reliable defensively, can kill penalties, and has a decent offensive touch (at least relative to what he’s making). A forward group that was already suspect defensively just got much worse in that regard.
