Didn't Godzilla lay on egg or something in the World's Most Famous Arena® in that version while Puff Daddy chilled with Jimmy Paige?

Ironically, Godzilla laid about 20 eggs -- equal to our number of losses. Puff Daddy did hang out with Jimmy Paige, but not in this motion picture, I believe.

Straight line to the locker room tonight.

Smart coaching by AV. He knew the team was going to face adversity so he brought in a character guy to help out with the locker room spirit.

Didn't Gorton bring him in?

So I still haven’t gotten an answer. Anyone know why Zibnejad was scratched last night

I wouldn't mind seeing him shipped off at the deadline. If he's such a great asset with the contract and "potential", you'd think he'd bring back a giant haul at the end of the month.

Shattenkirk has never played third pairing minutes on any team he's ever been on, so you made that up.

Who cares that Detroit didn't want Smith? They're the worst run organization in pro sports right now except the Browns. I'll welcome anyone they get rid of.

By what metrics is Detroit run worse than the Rangers?

In High Altitoad
Pittsburg were in a very similar position 2 years ago.

They changed their coach, and went from limp disaster to feeding Phil the Thrill hotdogs all the way to 2 consecutive Stanley Cup trophies. The results came instantly.

If the coach has lost his influence on the team, and they are playing without confidence, it's time to move on from AV.

Under AV this team a LOT of great memories, Presidents Trophy (As a European, I value winning the league pretty highly), deep Stanley cup final runs, One Cup Final appearance, 3-0 Playoff comebacks, Marty's passionate locker room speech after his mom passed, Helped Zucc become the player he is now (Zucc was scratched, came back with something to prove, and did. Did the same with Pouliot. And is now trying to do the same with Buch, stop whining about that, its worked before), Seasons with insane scoring, Derek Stepan and Brassard, two of the most clutch players on this team since 1994. And quite frankly a lot more.

We are struggling now. So ALL of that is all forgotten since complaining is just so easy.

This team never replaced Stepan going into this season. Miller was supposed to be the guy. He's not been the guy. We have big problems with chemistry across the board. The team just does not feel the same as previous years.

Trading established players for picks is lottery. Changing the coach, has a good chance of giving us an actual shot at turning the season around. Not sure who we'd actually replace him with, but that's another topic.

AV deserves praise for his tenure here. AV has reached the end of the line, and it's time to part ways as friends.

I guess I missed the part where we have Crosby,Malkin and Kessel for the turn around. AV sucks and needs to go, but most of the players, not just the bad ones, need to go as well.

Trading for futures may be lottery, but status quo (with the current crop) is doomed for failure.

Wherever I'm standing atm
If you average 4th in TOI among defensemen and he gets a lot of Power Playtime and offensive zone starts [which he should], that means he’s dressed and slotted on average somewhere between the 3rd and 5th spot on the defensive chart for non special team play, which means he’s playing either as the tail of the second pair or the carry of the third and rarely the top or dead bottom of the chart.
I get what you're arguing and I get that the people you're discussing this with are being purposely obtuse but so are you. There's important context there that you are all choosing to ignore bc it doesn't align with your stance and agenda.

For you, you're ignoring the quality of his teammates and his lack of familiarity with the team leading to an outlier where he still barely qualifies by variance alone for "3rd pair"

For them, they're ignoring that he was not good enough to be better than 4th dman who shifted between 2nd and 3rd pair TOi with variance.

There is evidence to suggest this place overrates guys like KS and Yandle. Likely bc of too much reliance on advanced stats and not enough knowledge of how certain players and talents will work together in certain systems.

There's also evidence to suggest you are way too dead set on deflecting blame from our awful coach who has been failing to optimize the talents of his players on D and refuses to adjust. So that puts us at or near the bottom of the league in several very important metrics.

But a 59 is practically a 60, which is a D and that comes after C and then if you round you get a B but with extra credit I could turn a B to an A and then maybe if you write to the principal Shattenkirk would be a top 4 dman
Teachers routinely round grades up from numbers like 69, 79, 89 depending on certain context so that's a bad example for what you're going for

I think he's talking about the music video for their weird Kashmir cover/remake/whatever that was on the Godzilla soundtrack.

Jesus that was like 20 years ago.

A good start would be having a coach that actually plays with structure. The Leafs basically iced the Marlies defense tonight and they still shut us down.

Yep, though AV isn't the problem with this team, he's a major problem in the grand scheme of things. I'm done with him. The high tempo offense is great, but at the expense of allowing 40+ shots a game? The rangers generated 9 shots on goal last night at the midway point of the game. That's abhorrent

I don’t know how anyone could watch last nights game and think AV still has the ear of this team.

Then again, maybe Gorton is okay with sinking.

I think he is, for now... I cannot envision a scenario where AV is brought back next year. Gorton knows this year is lost. Trying to win games now put us in mired mediocrity... We can't do that again.

We'll most likely end up with a top 10 pick, and if we sell the rentals we should have 3 1st rounders this coming draft. It's too bad we don't have our second, but the 1st and maybe a 3rd for Holden can make up for that

Vigneault still has influence over roster and personnel decisions. It was also Vigneault, Arniel, and Ruff that brought in Cracknell from Ruff's days in DAL with Cracknell.

Buch out :D

Edgy opinion: We'd have won quite a few of the recent losses if we could ever play a healthy lineup.
