True , and even when we weight in Russian the yo is often implied, but he had the yo in his name his whole career already, same with Shestyorkin. I think it’s the North American broadcasters not been able to pronounce them, and not willing to learn. I haven’t heard a single Russian name on Leafs pronounced properly since Grabovski probably

So, is he making the team or what!?

I think no. He has made a lot of bone head decisions.
He isn’t ready here. Whether it’s nerves or adjusting to time and space.

He doesn’t look like it now. But he has been feisty. Showed talent and size.

He could be a player. Let’s see him in the A first

According to NHL.com's Dave McCarthy, Easton Cowan, Nikita Grebenkin and Marshall Rifai will be sticking around with the main group beyond this next wave of cuts.

Grebenkin is a bit of a different story, having started camp as a very noticeable piece, thanks in part to a very entertaining fight in his pre-season debut, but has sort of slipped into the background a bit following a quieter week for him.

IMO the only guy in that group that has a chance is Lorentz.

Seasoning in the AHL will be good for him. Play top line minutes, PP1, adjust to NA ice. Next year he will be better for it.

He should be in AHL. Keep refining the games. Once we have some injuries he can get some games to taste. But he should spend most of the time in AHL this year

AHL has a lot of former NHLers that play there, good away to get acquinted. Don't think there are spaces in the lineup anyways

Give him big responsibility in the A. Top line, top PP, some PK, etc.

He’ll be ready for next year and should be able to slide in a middle 6 role.

A lot of his problems in the pre-season seem very teachable/correctable.

In his own zone, he was creeping in closer to the middle of the ice versus covering his completely open point man, it lead to chaos in the defensive zone.

Offensively, I liked his battles on the boards, and he made some nice passes but had a harder time finding a way to get open for shots.

100% you give him top line minutes in the AHL, PP time and if they think he can hang, PK minutes. His size and speed are probably NHL calibre already, it's just the details at this point. We're talking like maybe half a season in the AHL, at worst a full season but I think he's going to be on the roster next year.
