What TFC should do is try and trade Eckersley hes not worth 350k its a waste of cap space, if they can't move him buy him out, You can use 1 buy out a year without it going against the cap.

Doneil Henry and Gale Agboussmonde are more than capable rotation guys imo

true but With Ecks making close to 400k and We have no int spots available i still expect a few more moves, moving Lambe to free up a Int spot would be 1 of them

I know this is a pipe dream and highly unrealistic, but how amazing would it be to have Ronaldinho come over!?

He is only a year older than Ibrahimovic, so he still has fine form and insane skill. Probably one of those guys that fall under the category of "as good or better than Beckham" as promised by Leiweke :naughty:

Toronto FC would likely sell out every game, and would be amazing for the MLS.

Lack of international spots are a problem for tfc, still gotta move a few players out to clear some spots open, they do not even have an int spot open for dafoe yet,

Ronaldinho is no where near his old form. He has broken down and is in the twilight of his career at this point. Would probably be a disaster signing.

With Gilberto and Defoe, I still feel like this team wouldn't do much better. FC needs more because they are a joke right now

I hate when people refer to TFC as FC. You're just saying "Football Club needs more" it makes no sense.

Anyways, TFC aren't the joke they used to be. After Caldwell showed up last year they were very solid defensively. They were sorely missing a goal threat. Gilberto and Defoe, if he does infarct come, would add about 20-25 goals which would put TFC into playoff contention.

Given it's parity structure it's very easy to go from bottom to the top in MLS. As evidenced by Portland this year.

Jackson, Glberto, Defoe, DeRo and 2 other MLS vets they say they are going to get and this team will make the playoffs as Leiwieke predicted.

Good moves so far with Jackson, Gilberto and likely Defoe coming in. IMO TFC still need a starter caliber CM and RB and a few more depth players but after that the team is probably the best it's ever been. A CM is the main priority by far though.

Actually he's doing quite well in his homeland Brazil atm. Obviously not on the level of his Barca days but he's attempting to make a push for a spot on the WC squad this year.

If he came to the MLS, he would definitely be one of, if not the best player in the league, and by far the most popular.

But of course, he's not coming to Toronto

Good to see TFC starting to make some noise. DeFoe is a Clint Dempsey-esque move: Aging EPL player with still a few years left in him, and even past his prime he is better than a lot of MLS players. Hell, ever since Beckham, the MLS has been viewed as a landing spot for aging EPL/La Liga/Bundesliga players.

Gilberto is an intriguing signing since he is a young player on the rise, the exact type of players MLS teams will start wanting to go after since a niche has already been carved out for high level aging vets.

All in all, we really needed to add a good 25 goals and I think we've done just that. This definitely does have TL's fingerprints all over this. Everyone and their grandma knows that TFC is Tim's sideproject that he has the most hands-on control with. After all, he did bring Beckham to LA when he owned the Galaxy.
