I'm surprised SDA is playing over Malgin. I think they really want to reward him, maybe even showcase him at the NHL level. Either way, he's been really good with the Marlies and has taken a step forward in a lot of areas.

I agree. First time I ever saw SDA was his first year in the OHL. Was tiny, but had a great skillset. Been following him ever since and was excited when the Leafs drafted him. But the more I watched the less convinced I was that he would ever really make it. Good for the kid to get a chance, but I don't see him as a long term option for this team.

I was thinking they may rotate which would put Samsonov in tomorrow.

I did too. I just thought I had read that somewhere.

Either way I'm good with a rotation or going with the hot hand. Especially with no back to backs until January.

I hope that helps some players heal and also keep the Leafs going good. More time for proper practices etc.

SDA's skill level and IQ is a lot more than Malgin. Also, Malgin doesn't kill penalties so it doesn't make much of a difference IMO.

Only place where SDA lacks, at least for now IMO, is his size/strength and more importantly speed/skating. But to be seen how he has developed. I haven't seen much of SDA in the last 2 years or so

Don't agree with starting Murray again. We have a capable tandem they both need playing time. Neither has shown to be better than the other.

It's clear the Leafs want the cup goalie in net, but it's not even 2023 yet. 50-50 splits and we can ramp up a bit if needed in a few months

That's the start time for tv, games always start about 10 minutes later. Has nothing to do with the games scheduled for 8:30

Happy to see SDA make his debut but I disagree with the decision for tomorrow night.

Dallas is one of the best teams right now so this is a tough matchup to shelter in. Plus you have a rookie in Holmberg himself, not to mention Timmins making his debut on the back end when is still banged up.

Would have preferred Malgin or Simmonds coming in for this particular game. They have 3 home games coming up which might have been better opportunities.

I think Gretzky has the record of a 53 game point streak? Only 34 more Mitch.

Will it be Timmins time? SDA in? Strange call up on the road for a Christmas bonus. Maybe someone else is injured.

I was wondering about this. Hollowell out? Interesting that now they have 3 of SSM top 4 from 17/18.

Would they play SDA with Robertson on a third line? Did their junior magic translate to the A? Did they play much together on the Marlies?

Time to pick up Sikura to play with Gaudette and ZAR to reunite their college line. Haha
