Krug is not no 5 million dollar D man.But the real problem is Bruins are so weak on back end he can ask for it and expect it.
I'd give him 5x7. Krug/Carlo for years to come. I still believe he has another gear to kick into also.
Where the market is going, less than 5 would be a steal. he continues to grow; still would like to see improvements but he'll get there.
Because of cap inflation, 5 million today is like 4 million when the Bruins won the cup. Krug is worth 5 million with a 71m dollar cap.

He isn't getting under 5m imho, unless it's somehow from an arbitrator.
Torey Krug 52 games 3 goals 21 assists for 24 points
32nd in the league as a defenseman in points.
.
i'll say it again. over-rated
please play C. Miller and Morrow more. I am ok with down year but watching roadcones pals(chara and seids) and krug's no defense. krug been a passenger on the pp this season. seriously how can you not get points with spooner, krecji, bergy and louie on the unit.
It's strange how some D seem to get a pass on this team and others, like Krug, don't.
He's 24, only in his 3rd season, and is making the transition from a 3rd pair PP specialist to playing Top 4 against tougher matchups. His TOI is up 1:47 over last year, with his PP time up only 37 sec. His offensive zone starts have gone down every year (55 vs 65 two years ago). A transition period would be normal given his changed role and you might expect his offensive stats to take a hit. His goals are down, due mainly to his sub 2% shooting percentage (normally in the 6-8% range) but he is on pace to put up the same amount of points as last season.
It isn't news that he's on the small side and does his best work when paired with a big physical D partner, and I think he's developing and coming along nicely. What that translates into as far as dollars and cents go, I'm not sure?
He's been treated pretty well on these boards- and rightfully so. But he has also fallen off dramatically of late. I wonder if the fight against Stewart (and the total lack of support from his teammates) had more of an effect than we thought. It's strange how some D seem to get a pass on this team and others, like Krug, don't.

Krug had 2g/11a all last year on the PP.
This year he has 0g/12a through 51 games this year on the PP.
So, he is "getting points" on the PP.

No defenseman on this team is getting a pass. krug at his peak is 4-5 if paired with very good physical defman. not worth more than 3mil a year. but that's my option.
guys making over 4.5-5 should be able to carry their line. bruins have a lot of lhd in pipeline how many do they really need? especially pp only guys.
correct and I think that 3.5mil for that was too much. he is the shooter on the pp, til this season for lack of scoring from him. so none it's bergy and spooner being setup for one-timers.
