  • Congrats to our latest Sportsbook winners - GOLD MEDAL kihei, SILVER MEDAL fish7 and BRONZE MEDAL Sammy Kat - new tournament begins today 6/15
They didn't need yet another defenceman who can't play his position at the expense of one who can.
I truly can’t believe people like you exist. It’s just such a waste of energy to be rage baiting like this. And If you truly believe this then I feel sorry for you.

Easy. I’m a STM that attends virtually every game. He’s a slow 4-6 defenseman with a booming shot. If you can limit his minutes 5 on 5 and have him play on the pp, he’s fine. He has always been a 5-7 guy until this season when injuries forced him into the lineup and, he was outstanding offensively and was protected by Moser on defense.

I’m pleased for him that he hit a big payday as he’s got a great personality and is willing to accept his role.

But my fear is that with his contract that Leaf fans are going to expect Raddysh to be in the top 4. He’s not that player.

Too late, Leafs fans don’t care what the eyes of his longtime team/organization saw and have anointed him the next Bobby Orr. Way to be a “hater”.

he wanted to play for the leafs, if he didnt care and it went to a bidding war, i am 100% sure one nhl team woulda offered him 10...would it had been a bad signing? of course but all it takes is one team and you know one team woulda done it

Exactly. The Leafs got a great bargain here. Can’t believe he signed for only $68 million. The summer of Chayka is off to a great start!

In no other context would a player on a team which gave him limited minutes and opportunities until they were forced too by injuries, and then said player saved the team's bacon and put up 70 points, would we say it was the team that was brilliant, instead of saying why didn't they recognize what they had.

DR might be a fit for TOR on a deal that didn't make sense for TB.

Again, why is there an assumption that pending UFA Raddysh would have agreed to re-sign with Tampa, period?

Darren, we have a great deal that you simply can't pass up. Remember all those amazing opportunities you took advantage of this year, well re-sign with us and you can experience all of those opportunities again, but this time while sitting on the bench . . . unless Hedman is injured.

I disagree. Florida is still a top contender once Barkov returns.
Toronto even with a huge rebound is a playoff bubble team. IMO the Raddysh contract makes more sense for a top contender to sign.
I don't think Florida has a hope in you know what of winning anything anymore. Not because they don't have good players - just too many hard miles on all of them. That said, I do expect them to trade the first round pick for immediate help.

He very clearly was not going to sign with Tampa. Again, the talk in this community for a long time now has been that he would sign with Toronto. This was the least surprising move ever.

Neither do Tampa or Toronto. All 3 of those teams are aging and on the downside of their runs.

To be fair Tampa and Florida are two extremely well run franchises where players want to play and they should be able to retool on the fly. They also have top GM’s and coaches. And Florida getting back a top center and perennial Selke finalist gives them a huge boost.
I think the Leafs are in the worst shape of the 3 franchises even with the addition of McKenna.
