My issue isn't the money as the Leafs have a lot of cap space. It's the term and the 6 year NTC that's the issue.

I expect every decent player who is UFA this summer will get similar. So the Leafs' choices likely were get the player you want and need (who also wants to be in TO) for a decent cap hit, full term mostly NTC years, or drastically over pay for someone else, or get no one.

Is he? I wasn't very impressed with Andersson in the Vegas playoff run, but isn't he usually considered a solid two-way guy? To put it in numeric values, I always viewed Andersson as a 6 in offense, 7 in defense (out of 10) and Raddysh more of a 8 in offense, 5 in defense type.

No opposite imo. Shot is okay but like a 6.5 . His d is maybe a 5 . Foot speed also a 5 . His decision making is what troubles me the most honestly . Ill advised pinches and low key dirty play .

Isn't this exactly how the Leafs got David Clarkson? He was the best of a weak UFA class, and you know, supply vs demand.

Sure. But the Panthers were competing for Cups and those guys pushed them over the top. Leafs are a non playoff team hoping to have a huge rebound just to make the playoffs. I would have no issue if a contending team like Carolina, Colorado, Montreal or Vegas made this deal.

I would rather they went the Pittsburgh route. Sign guys looking to rebound on short term deals. Rebuild the prospect pool and in 2 years move on from Matthews and Nylander. Make this McKenna's. IMO this team is far from a Cup contender.

Could've cashed in our two big trade chips and with that haul + McKenna & Knies had the foundations for an exciting long-term project. Instead we're just in no mans land for god knows how long now.

I disagree. Florida is still a top contender once Barkov returns.
Toronto even with a huge rebound is a playoff bubble team. IMO the Raddysh contract makes more sense for a top contender to sign.
