Raddysh both has a better shot and better in his own end . He also might get 10 on the open market. Anderson has never come close to a seasom like Raddysh just had .Andersson is who I wanted, I really wanted Andersson. not the guy that just had a breakout season at 30 playing with Kucherov. but yea I knew I was going to get ripped by leafs fans, I just can't sit here and get excited for this deal.
maybe I shouldn't have said David Clarkson but I dont think im too far off. and also I dont care if ppl don't like my thoughts.
That's fair? It's also possible this past season was a one off and he drops significantly in points.Well of course. It is very unlikely that Raddysh would have much of any kind of season if Hedman is fully healthy. Players are worth different amounts to different teams based on team needs and expected role. Tampa doesn't need a player like Raddysh (or at least they didn't until Hedman had injury issues).
Which is why after Raddysh' was 6th among NHL D in P/60 at 5v5 in 2024/25, he started out last season averaging 14:09 a game, with 3 points at the time of Hedman's first injury 15 games into the season. No injury to Hedman last season and Raddysh is probably signing a 1 year 1M (max) contract this summer with whatever team he thinks might give him his first real shot. Fortunately for him he got to show what he could do last season.
I think the AAV is fair for a dry UFA class, but 8 year term with 6 year of full NTC is poor risk management on what is already the riskiest UFA in recent memory (30 year old breakout season out of nowhere right before hitting FA).A lot of people don't understand supply vs demand.
There's no free agents this year with a ton of teams with money. Anyone with a brain would've understand Raddysh was signing for minimum 8.
Most understand that. It still can be an overpay and not working out which happens more often then not with free agents.A lot of people don't understand supply vs demand.

A low supply and a high demand doesn’t automatically make it a good deal.A lot of people don't understand supply vs demand.

Also with guys like Logan Stanley projected to command 6/7M under the new salary cap… I’ll pay 1.5M extra for raddysh all day.A lot of people don't understand supply vs demand.

Is he? I wasn't very impressed with Andersson in the Vegas playoff run, but isn't he usually considered a solid two-way guy? To put it in numeric values, I always viewed Andersson as a 6 in offense, 7 in defense (out of 10) and Raddysh more of a 8 in offense, 5 in defense type.Raddysh both has a better shot and better in his own end . who the hell is paying 6/7 m for Stanley? Also with guys like Logan Stanley projected to command 6/7M under the new salary cap… I’ll pay 1.5M extra for raddysh all day.

FixedMcKenna ideally needs another season in the minor or college. He can play now but will be overwhelm physically.
Cowan is juts Nick Robertson 2.0 in the making.
Just my BAD opinion

You basically got chat gpt to say exactly what he just said but with an obvious bias that AI programs commonly have, goodd job lolJust did a quick ask on chatgpt if this were accurate. This is what it said;
If you're referring to the season Darren Raddysh just finished with the Tampa Bay Lightning before being traded, he was used as a top-pairing, all-situations defenseman.
Here are the key details:
Average ice time: 22:42 per game, which actually led the Lightning.
StatMuse +1
Role: Top-pair defenseman at even strength.
Special teams: He played on the first power-play unit and was a regular on the penalty kill.
Reuters +1
Production: In 73 games, he recorded 22 goals and 48 assists for 70 points, all career highs.
Wanna revise your statement? Typical "traded to toronto now he is washed" shitty hockey opinion i expect from these boards
Pick a new teamGod, I hate being a Leafs fan sometimes.
We just locked ourselves into an 8-year cycle of path dependency and pure sunk-cost fallacy.
We’re pulling a Pittsburgh Penguins: doubling down on an aging core and selling our future to desperately chase a first-round exit. At least Pittsburgh actually won three Cups first to justify the downfall and going down the Crosby/Malkin ship.
We should have traded Matthews and Nylander this offseason, embraced the rebuild, and drafted McKenna. Instead, we’re going to overpay veterans, delay the inevitable, and end up at square one in four years with zero trade value left.
Yeah it sucks to rebuild without our own 1st rounders for the next two seasons but allowing that to make us pot-committed and trying in vain to turn this roster into a cup winner ****s us for like a decade or more when it inevitably fails.

What if they add Nurse ? What then ? Domination?major success. Radysh completely transforms the blue line. if Matthews can return to 90% then Toronto will be contenders again this year
My issue isn't the money as the Leafs have a lot of cap space. It's the term and the 6 year NTC that's the issue.Of course. More than possible.
However, 37 points the season before while playing 17 minutes a night, would probably be 50 - 55 with PP1 time and more preferential ES time.
That is what I expect from him for the first 2 - 4 seasons unless he has a significant drop off in ability. I am more than happy with that contract for that.
unlike you, it backs up all the things it states with links to the evidence.Nope. You believe Chat GPT?
That's MLSE. They want that playoff revenue.God, I hate being a Leafs fan sometimes.

he might not have another season like that tooRaddysh both has a better shot and better in his own end . He also might get 10 on the open market. Anderson has never come close to a seasom like Raddysh just had .
Except the "regular on the penalty kill" thing that ChatGPT seems to think.unlike you, it backs up all the things it states with links to the evidence.
you can't fudge the numbers.
did you want to dispute his ice time and usage or let it go?
I think people understand that. People just don't think it's a good signing.A lot of people don't understand supply vs demand.

Nobody is projecting Stanley to get 6/7M. Most projections have him around 3M-4M (still too much). Also with guys like Logan Stanley projected to command 6/7M under the new salary cap… I’ll pay 1.5M extra for raddysh all day.
