We also got Bunting, Kase and Kampf, who have all been excellent. Lyabushkin has fit in well so far too. Regardless, scouts don’t get final say.
You got Bunting because of the Ontario/Soo connection and he gave Leafs massive discount. You got Kase because every other team wasn't willing to risk his obvious concussion history. Kampf was a good signing for what he brings, which isn't that much.

Ppl like you are a joke lmaooo. Gio is a miss without even playin a game? Foligno got injuried lol mzarek and ritchie i agree but ritchie was a cheap sign.

Gio played a lot of games this year, it's been pretty clear what he is. He's not the solution to the Leafs problems on D, he's declined a lot and in the ways the Leafs need most (losing battles especially net front).

Leafs locking into him as the solution shows that their leadership fails to understand what the problem is and has an inability to access how to fix those problems.

They have a murderers row to get out of the Atlantic this year and just acquired a piece that is redundant to what they already have without addressing what they don't have. That piece comes with a cap hit that prevents them from addressing the glaring needs they have.

Its obvious what the Leafs needed and anyone who's watched much of Gio can see that it wasn't him. I'd call that a huge failing of the pro scouts, one of a long line of many.

I know everyone is eager for the Leafs to get screwed here, but as an outsider would a 1st rounder be so awful? It's likely going to be in the mid to late 20s, and isn't this a weak draft?

Not surprising. I could see Liljegren being part of the deal. Amirov might be of interest to Seattle, but not sure Toronto moves him.

It is a weak draft, but 1st round picks are still valuable. That being said I'd much rather give up this year's 1st than next year's.

Lilijgren isn't going to be moved for a rental especially when he'll be better than Giordano as soon as next year. He's playing great hockey right now

Amirov with his recent health issue isn't going to be traded. Hopefully he beats the tumor and gets healthy for himself first and foremost

Nothing you posted refutes anything I said. And Kampf brings a lot, good depth player.
