NYR 1st 2022

Rangers shore up high octane output on their wing from Nylander who is a PPG player in his prime while Kaako continues to figure it out, as well as a goalie in Mrazek who has some experience to back up Shesterkin and won't face a lot of puck to preserve his angel hair pasta groin.

Leafs fortify their fourth line with some serious grit, get a quality tandem goalie waiting for a pay day who will likely get around 2-2.5M$ per, plus a really good RHD prospect and a late 1st this year knowing that 2023 is a better draft class. And, yeah.... cap space to address other issues.

Rangers probably not looking to take on much salary. Honestly, I don't think they need Nylander, and if we wanted to pay what Mrazek is making we would just keep Georgiev. So you're not getting Schneider or a 1st out of me if I am the GM. If you want a separate deal for Reaves or Georg I would listen. Reaves is a good team guy but he's more of a hitter than a fighter at this point, and the slower he gets the less effective he is at it. But he gets paid top dollar for a guy who does that. Hoping Will Cuylle phases Reavo out this year but we will see. George you could probably get for very cheap as I don't think the Rangers will qualify him. They should be able to find a much cheaper backup with Igor playing 60 or so games a year.

Yeah don’t see why the Leafs do this. And not sure why the Rangers need Nylander anyways.

If the rangers fans aren’t willing to move schneider for jt miller they certainly aren’t going to do it for wee willah. He is a huge joke. Didn’t anyone see that clip of him in the playoffs making a “business decision”? What a gutless puke.

That’s been a move he’s used multiple times and it has worked successfully most of them. You can cherry pick all you want, but Nylander is worth more to the Leafs than Miller is or Schneider would be.

Your post is as much of a joke as your opinion about Nylander.

Horrific value for nylander.

No idea if it makes sense for the rangers. But man. The idea that an 80 pt forward is worth

A washed goon. A goalie who is speculated not to be qualified Schneider and a 1st is just bonkers.

????

Rangers don't have a 1st in 2022 (traded to WPG in the Copp deal, quick look at capfriendly would've told you this). smh

HFBoards trade proposals FTW!

As stated, no 2022 first and no deal from the Rangers. We can’t take that contract. It will mean giving up on of Laf, Miller, or Kakko shortly if we do.

are you saying nylander is a center too?

ummmm…while I’m not a rangers fan…I do know they don’t need another winger.

Lots of thread ideas for Leafs to fix their goalie problem. Maybe it’s best they just keep what the have?

Da Big Apple
no, OP

EVERYBODY pls get a grip on this NOW.
for ALL Rangers trades going forward until cap #s change:

this season NY had its cake and can eat it too
after this season, the bill comes due
we do NOT have cap space to add, let alone big names
Zib + Fox $$ kicks in next season = 11m ish more
we are losing
Strome, Geo, Hajek, Nemeth + recovery of 1.5 Hank buyout = 11ish m

We need in order of priority:
extend young rfa core - Kakko, Chytil, etc
other key guys
then:
1. Vatrano
2. Copp
3. -- a long shot, Motte

We are prob gonna try to bribe Trouba to go FL b'c we have Schneider ready to step in and Nils L for 3RD. FL may send Reinhart + Weegar to OTT for 7OA +/++ and NY can add to JT retained down to 6m + other adds for that or another pick = no other cap hit to NY.

Then .Lindgren at 3 per x 2 for a 1st + add. pick = no cap hit, NY has Robertson + to break in.

6m Trouba + 3m Lindy + 1m cap increase everyboody gets = 10m.
That is only hope NY can address its own youth, other rfa/ufa and add Vatrano + Copp, assuming Copp likes it here and will do 2-3 yrs short term closer to 4 than 5.5 w/understanding we will move on from Panarin's huge $$$$ when finished in 4 yrs hence, and maybe 3 yrs dep on if we are competing and he want to stay or chase cup elsewhere,

Rangers don’t have their 1st this year.
Rangers can’t afford Nylander.
Rangers need a 2C, not a winger.

Pure failure of a proposal.

Rangers have no cap for this unless the plan is to use Nylander at 2c - which we won't.

Feel like I'd do this if I were a Rangers fan. Nylander is a really good player who is likely undervalued because of "scared of corners!!" memes.
NYR flat out couldn't do this without TML retaining 50% on BOTH Nylander AND Mrazek,
$9M Cap Hits kick in BOTH for Fox AND Zib next season

also, anyone watchin the playoffs sees how good Schneider is, they wouldn't want to move him (they just joyfully moved up to grab him less than 2 years back)
And, they NEED him on the roster.
His ELC Cap Hit, is how NYR can make the cap work with a roster featuring
Bread, Zib, Fox, Kreider, Trouba, and Shesterkin plus some guys making ~$3M+

NOT that NYR would do it, due to "drama"
but NYR need a C for their top 6 (new guy or re-sign Strome or Copp),
Tavares at 50% is more like what could upgrade NYR roster balance

The Rangers have no need for another winger, can’t pull this off cap wise and the offer isn’t good enough for a player like Nylander.

Both team’s fans hate this deal for the right reasons. It doesn’t take anything into consideration.

Non of the 2 FLA teams have the cap space for Trouba even at 6M$. And he has a NMC, you can't bribe him. He stays in NY for sure. Even if he has a MNTC after next year, he still controls where he goes, he just needs to put every rebuilding team and non cap-strap team to his list to make sure he stays in NYC.

Nemeth wil require a 2nd for each yea he has left on his deal. 2.5M$ for an AHL dman is wayyy too much

So Nemeth + NYR 2022 2nd + NYR 2023 2nd for Futur Consid, that could work for Arizona I guess

Lindgren isn't worth a 1st, let alone a 1st +, bottom pairing d-man don't fetch that. And again, team who would be interested in Lindgren (playoff teams) won't take him without sending salary back in the trade cause they'll also be cap strapped. And the team who aren't / rebuilding teams won't send a 1st rd pick for him that's absurd
