Compare this to an NBA broadcast (or even the NFL). The difference is personality. NHL broadcasts have none. It's almost like they intentionally try to be DEI and folksy at the same time. There is no Charles Barkley on NHL broadcasts.

Weekly reminder that the moment I hear Ron's voice I put the game on mute and into the background. I watch on a web browser so it's easy. He gave a thumbs-up and literally said "Love you for it." after whatever it was that people think Cherry said wrong. One day later, he threw Don under the bus once there was a little political heat. This after Don held out in contract talks a few years earlier to help his buddy get paid. And the icing on the cake was Ron's wife saying something like "I always knew Don Cherry was a racist." She owes her entire lifestyle to Cherry.

I don't care who it is, but find people who are actually funny and entertaining to watch. I can't imagine there is anyone on the planet who doesn't laugh his ass off watching Shaq and Charles Barkley go back and forth. Half the time they aren't even talking about basketball, and it's still damn near the best thing on television.

Edit: Brad Marchand will ultimately end up on a panel when he retires, and he will likely be the most entertaining person hockey has.
