Confirmed with Link: [TOR/CGY] TOR acquire David Rittich [50% retained] for 2022 3rd Round Pick

Now here is why I am one, and you are not.

You have to expose a Dman. You trade Dermott, you have no one to expose. 2F, 1D, 1G. No exceptions. Right now there is Kerfoot, Engvall, Dermott, and Hutch as exposed players. And even Dermott needs a new contract first before he can be exposed.

I can provide relevant reading material on this if it is too hard to find on your own. Just let me know - it'll take mere split seconds, and then you can talk from a position of knowledge.

I would miss all the fun if you didn't keep doing this to yourself though. The board needs good comedy and posts to laugh at.
You’re like a character in a Roald Dahl book that fell into a vat of an experimental compound that makes people pompous and condescending with just one drop.

Extremely curious if this means is Freddy is out for season + playoffs

For the rest of the regular season i believe it´s a given. He needs time to fully heal and the cap gymnastics would be olympian.
As for the PO... I guess it depends on how serious the injury is and how long it takes to be back at 100%.
Even if Freddy makes it back in time for the playoffs, do we really want to start a goalie that missed over a month in playtime unless we have to?
Time will tell.

Have to think that's the end of Freddy as a Leaf. LTIR until the playoffs. And unless Campbell and Rittich are blowing it, why would we start a cold Freddy come playoffs? A guy who is known to be a slow starter year after year. If Rittich works out here and likes it here, definitely an option to re-sign and rock a tandem with Campbell after this season as well. Rittich can be playing against his old team tomorrow night, pretty cool

Wow another goalie. If andersen is really done then there must be another big move ahead, or else why would we be giving up all these futures for all this retention.

Or trade for him tomorrow too. Still a deadline going on here. I know the rules well. Ask the other fella how hecwas keeping Both Dermott and Holl not me

if you protect 4 dmen ... reily , tj, muzz and holl
whats the problem ?

So even better the expansion draft is before free agency so there is no way for the leafs to expose 1 dman if they trade dermott. basically if they trade dermott they have no choice but to expose HOLL
Also , find me that magical unicorn dman that makes less than 1.6mil that is better than dermott

I was hoping for one of Ullmark, Driedger or Kuemper. Rittich is OK, though I can’t say I’m too comfortable betting our season on him if Campbell goes down. Same goes for Freddy, if he gets healthy again.

Hopefully Campbell’s nagging injury doesn’t get any worse!
Yes, I was hoping for Ullmark, I thought a 3rd, a prospect and fit in by putting Andersen on LTIR. But as a backup Rittich is as good as Freddy, so I am content, and pretty close on my concept.

I see what Dub-miester is up to: once Andersen is all healed up & back to his old self, he's gonna trade him to retrieve all of yesterday's 1st, 3rd, & 4ths picks back.
You clever GM you :thumbu:

Rittich is very good at second saves. has a history of robbing McDavid and Matthews.

I only have seen this guy stand on his head against us, and show more fire than I’ve seen in a goalie since belfour-20.

I like Rittich a lot. Hope I continue to!

Honestly wouldn't surprise me if there is some GM out there who still thinks Andersen is a great goalie who was carrying the Leafs.

I see someone hasn't seen the standings in about 2 months. They are 6th out of 8 in their division. 3 points up on 7th place columbus, 6 points back of 4th place Nashville, and a whooping 15 points back of 3rd.
To be fair, they're 6 points back with 3 games in hand on Nashville

Rittich is decent insurance. It's clear now Freddy will not be back, and Campbell's health is a daily topic of conversation. Can't be going into the playoffs with Hutch as your starter.

Dubas did what he had to here.
Yep. When you load up and expel a high value asset for Foligno, you don't go half-baked, you go all the way to fill holes. Now get us that 5/6D Dube, not comfortable having Marincin or Lilly as 7th for a deep run.

Honestly wouldn't surprise me if there is some GM out there who still thinks Andersen is a great goalie who was carrying the Leafs.
Benning? Can't think of a dumber GM
