This is an absolute steal for the Bruins. Carlo is decent but not like the clowns at TSN make him out to be. I don't think they watch many games outside of the Leafs tbh. Soft, poke checking dman. 6'5 plays like he's 5'10.

If you're 6'5", you don't play like you're 5'10" by default of being 6'5. Simply by being 6'5, he can clear the front of the net, move guys around, and do things a 5'10" defenseman can't. Carlo has flaws—he's not great offensively and he's not physical —but defensively and in front of the net, he's extremely good. He's a top-30-40ish RD in the league and an easy second-pair, #4 D. Worth the cost. There's a shortage of good RD in the NHL.

I don’t disagree. A Florida matchup right now is not expected all things considered but the Leafs brass really will have a hard time justifying trading the next 3 1st round picks and still not ending up a top contender. I like the Carlo deal, McCabe deal is solid. Laughton one sucks.

I'll be surprised if he's better than Matt Stajan. Maybe that's still a win for Boston though. I personally was pretty disappointed in the pick and disappointed with the numbers he put up the last couple years.nGood chance he's an NHLer no matter what though. Could be 2C, could be 4C.

If he's a Matt Stajan that's a pretty good get on it own. Stajan had a long successful career. I don't get all the Carlo hate. I quite liked him but he doesn't play to his size which is what I think annoyed most of us.

Carlo is 6'5" and can skate for someone at that size. He uses his reach very well to take away space and to direct people away from the net. He had success being the guy that covered for Krug defensively and has had success being buried in the d-zone with a much better two way D like Lindholm.

I think he can help make Morgan the best version of himself, but he individually will struggle against aggressive forecheckers when the puck is on his side of the ice, so Rielly better skate back fast.
