The past few playoff years it wasn't the lack of defense that sunk them the most often, but mediocre to average goaltending and most of all the lack of offense. On paper the Leafs shouldn't have that hard a time scoring more than a goal or two per playoff game and yet on the ice that's what they've been averaging for the majority of post season games in recent years.I am talking about Reilly obviously. That Toronto has no true #1 defenseman is going to sink them.
I don't think anything will change this coming playoffs and the Leafs will likely continue to struggle to score and will only go as far as Stolarz can take them. If he and maybe Woll if called upon isn't playing like 92-93 playoff Patrick Roy, then the Leafs will likely be headed towards another early exit.
