About what I expected, wanted 6 per but glad it's not 4 years.

I say again I think when he handed over the C to Matthews he folded in a deal for himself in the process.

13.16 x 8 Marner

7 X 3 Tavares

~45M out of 95.5M cap on big 4 = ~47%

~52.5M out of 95.5M cap on Big 4 + rielly = ~55%

Einstein did say the definition of insanity is to do the same things over and over and expect the same results, especially with the greatest core in league history.

Einstein didn’t actually say that according to my computer. But I never met the guy so it’s hard to say for sure

JT must have a vid of Rogers fondling a goat , why else would they pay this loser 7m per .

hopefully the rumor is false

Even with the inflated cap 7 mill for a 3C is pretty bad. Especially bad after you after most of the 4 mill “savings” will go to Marners new deal
I can't tell you how JT will perform in these next 3 years, but if your 3rd line C scores 60 points you might have a good situation.

He's not getting 60 points playing on the third line with a couple of plugs. May not get 40 if he is not on PP1 IMO. I'd spend a little more and sign Bennett, Boeser or Ehlers. JT is welcome to play #3C or LW for $4-$5m.

I fully support Rogers giving it a whirl. Bell and Larry are questionable operators.
Have you seen how they have run the Blue Jays? Bell, Larry and Rogers are all about the money like the 3 players they are banking on for their hockey team.

I'm going to guess there will be deferred money here but either way, it's too high. He's having a good season and he's been great for us... but man... Always top dollar for these players. I hope he doesn't show too much regression by the end of it.
He has played well in his contract year. I expect him to regress at the tail end of his career

Issues I'd have with the contract aside, I think it's a simple fact they don't have anyone to replace him and there isn't much in the UFA market at C which should drive up those players prices with an increased cap.
