Armageddon is a great "bad movie". Will watch that any time.

I don't mind Deep Impact either, but it's not better than Armageddon.

I actually like the destruction in 2012 better than Day After Tomorrow. But I think DAT is a "better" movie. Although I actually haven't seen DAT recently....

Twister is a classic. Relatively speaking of course

The Perfect Storm is a really, really good movie.

As a Newfoundlander I loved how the movie took place just off the coast at a spot I was pretty familar with(Not a fisher myself but had learned a lot about the area).

It was also an extremely emotional movie in many ways. I doubt anyone could watch it and not be emotional by the end of it.

I didn't think anyone else liked The Night of the Comet anywhere near as much as I do. :). A perfect camp comedy movie.

Twister has a special place in my heart for personal reasons. Probably some others I'm forgetting about.

Even though the special effects had their share of mistakes, always loved Twister, can't count how many times i've seen it. Night of the Comet, I remember when it came out. While I consider it more of a Sci-Fi, I love the end of the world type stuff and things related to outer space. Plus Catherine Mary Stewart was this and one of my favorite Sci-Fi movies, The Last Starfighter as well as the guy from Star Trek Voyager to which I'm also a big fan of.

Forgot about The Core. I don't know why, but I enjoyed that one quite a bit. The acting was over the top, the writing was meh, but somehow it all came together to be a good watch.

It is a decent movie if you can get past the overacting from Aaron Eckhart. Never been a big Hilary Swank fan other then her work in Boys Don't Cry and maybe Black Dahlia which she was ok in.

Twister has the worst dialogue of any movie ever. "He's gonna rue the day he came up against The Extreme, baby. Bill, I'm talkin' imminent rueage."

I forgot about The Perfect Storm. That's actually a good movie.

Dante's Peak is great because they sacrifice a grandmother to save a dog.
I remember Francis Ford Coppola saying around the time of Apocalypse Now that you can do anything you want to humans and it will hardly raise a ripple, but do something bad to a dog and the audience will react with genuine pain and outrage. Pooch easily trumped Granny in Dante's Peak.

Natural disaster/end of the world movies are some of my favorite movies, though I won't shy away from saying there are a lot of terrible movies within the genre.

My favorites are Independence day, the day after tomorrow and the last night. The last night in particular is an amazing movie that is incredibly well done and I recommend it to everyone. It's probably the only Canadian disaster/end of the world movie ever made.
