Past history aside I think a guy like Kadri would be a great fit for what the team needs. I don't think his age/contract would fit in with the retool though.

Xenforo Cloud will be upgrading us to version 2.3.5 on March 3rd at 12 AM GMT. This version has increased stability and fixes several bugs. We expect downtime for the duration of the update. Have to feel like Blues options are basically similar to Philly's situation. Either wait and develop that Top-6C internally and hope it doesn't take too long...or maybe bargain with Ottawa on either risky Norris, or pay up for an underperforming Pinto.
It would be insanity to trade Bolduc in a package for a 2C stop gap while we wait for Dvorsky.

I wasn’t talking about a stopgap guy. I want someone who you can either drop to 3C or move one to wing in 3 years when Dvorsky is legitimately ready for top 6 minutes.
The player that fits that the best would probably be a Healthy Norris from Sens. But that contract and health issues scare the hell out of me.
Edit: and I see him out of our price range assets wise as well.

Honest question though, how bad is he at this point? There's a fine line between being bad and being an upgrade over Sundqvist. Sunny is just slow at this point but guys seem to perform well with him and he's pretty beloved here in St. Louis

I’d potentially be interested in Dvorak but wouldn’t give up anything of value. Would Montreal want to move him if they don’t get anything back?

Well, a rental veteran C will have *some* value. Maybe a 3d round pick and a reclamation project prospect of some kind ?
He's not bad, he's just not very good at much of anything beyond faceoffs and looking like he's in a bad mood.

Was thinking he'd be more in the realm of a 4th or a 5/6th and a prospect that isn't really too high end.
Canadiens always somehow seem to trade a guy that seems pretty marginal for something at the deadline though, I don't doubt that you could get that from somewhere, I just would hope it's not the Blues as we probably should draft a goalie around that 3rd round area this year.

Fair enough, but the Blues don't have a 3rd this year. Not sure I'd trade one for Dvorak anyway...not that he isn't worth it, just don't think the Blues should be spending assets like that this year.
Now that would actually be interesting...

Fair enough. That being said, you guys drafted a guy in that very year of whom the same thing could've been said until he got put at c where he suddenly put up 38 goals.
Not that his current team is going anywhere but that's another story.
Not all Wingers can magically turn into Centers. Blues tried to Make Buchnevich a Center this year and it ended horribly.
