Exciting is a subjective thing and each person has a different perspective on what they enjoy watching.

For me:

Hmmm. Most exciting is not necessarily the best although there’s a high correlation. The most exciting player I ever watched was Bure.
For me my list would be guys who are magicians with the puck or can make moves at high speed. I’ve got:

McDavid
MacKinnon
Kane
Panarin
Kucherov

I’d have Marner and Elias Pettersson as honourable mentions.

When I watch the leafs I find Marner more exciting than Matthews. I think Matthews is the better player but it’s just the stickhandling, speed and amount of time with the puck on stick that makes players exciting for me to watch. Also superstars who have some edge/sandpaper to their game.

I’d say Marner, Panarin, and Makar could also be in that last spot.

I left Kucherov out of my top 5 as a Lightning fan. He has a very subtle game, but he can turn opportunities into goals in the blink of an eye.

Ehlers also deserves mentions here, definitely. A lot more exciting than someone like Laine for example.

Kucherov is not that exciting. He's more like a lurking shark who perfectly executes three plays in a game and doesn't create anything for 55 minutes.

Matthews is a wonderful player but I don’t think he’s so exciting. (Scoring goals is exciting)

I might be wrong, but he never seems to carry the puck in to the zone and make plays off the rush. That is what makes a player excite me

His shot is elite, but I agree.
Surprised Marner has so few votes, because he can make you stand up.
Matthews has carried the puck into the zone a lot though.

I picked McDavid, but I like Crosby more, due to the unusual plays he can make.
