That’s an extremely strange list considering you have players who are actually playing in the CONFERENCE FINALS as we speak meaning that they’ve already done more than 28 other teams.

Why don’t you have guys like Giroux, Dahlin, Larkin who can’t even get their teams to the post season let alone win something

They play for respect in the handshake line, not for the win.

Erik Karlsson and Brent Burns are career losers.

The buffalo sabres organization. They used to be one of my favorite teams, now I'd be less surprised if they relocated or folded then made the playoffs.

Dahlin will request out of buffalo in a year or two then go on to have a great career.

It's a dumb premise.

You can win, or lose, with anyone in the NHL, a single position player simply doesn't have that much impact in the overall picture. Take someone who plays 20:00/game, that's 1/3 of 1/6 of the on-ice team, or 1/18th (5.5%) of the collective effort.

The only argument that might make sense is a goalie that just mentally collapses under the pressure.

In the late 80's people were writing about Jordan being a flashy scorer who didn't have it what it takes to win, and that's the NBA, where a single player has a much larger impact,

When a player underperforms in the playoffs, the easiest and laziest thing to do is label them as "can't win with them."

In honor of Mike Singletary’s epic rant, who are the top 5 guys you think you simply can’t win with in the playoffs?

It’s a bit different than worst contract or worst player- we’re looking for highly paid players in big roles who disappear.

For me:

1) Marner. Don’t believe in him come crunch time.
2) PLD. I wouldn’t trust him in big regular season games either.
3) Zibby/Panarin. 2 players.c 1 big disappointment.
4) Nurse. Dude is nervous and bad in playoffs. He’s lower because you can theoretically shelter him, whereas no one is gonna step up to fill offensive roles.
5) Petersson. Feels like he could turn around and be better.

Feels like I’m forgetting some forgettable performances, but lemme know what you think.

PS- and we shall not mention Jumbo. He didn’t fail the playoffs, the playoffs failed him.
This feels like it was written by A.I.

You've just listed 5 guys who have struggled to varying degrees in the playoffs, this season. This is the level of your analysis? You just assume that this will be true in perpetuity?

Funny how one of the stories of these playoffs is that Barkov has become a dominant force in the playoffs to a similar degree as he has been in the regular season.
But meanwhile, we're just predicting that every star who struggled over this month and a half period if a write-off for the future?

A little more in-depth analysis would have served this thread well.

Nurse and the Ranger duo could literally win this year...

I wouldn't group Panarin and Zibanejad together. It's way more Zibanejad.
Last year Panarin didn’t even show up to the playoffs and the team lost in the first round to a team that didn’t even make the playoffs this year.

When your 69 goal scorer being the highest paid player in the league can’t score in the big games to me he is the single biggest reason the leafs haven’t advanced and have only 1 playoff series win since he has been there.
Simply doesn’t have that win at all cost mentality.

The whole team got bodied last year. It's pointless to assess individual performances.

The same thing is happening in this series.
