Let's say Adams makes one more move, what would you rather he adds- a top-4 D or a top-6 W?
I’d say top 6 forward, since I know they're not looking for a top 4 dman. They feel that got the 4th member of the top 4 with Byram.
They aren't going to trade Byram, the Sabres want speed and he has that in spades. Byram was targeted for a reason.Trade Byram for a top 4 RHSAHD.
It just seems like there are no options on the market. DeMelo re-signed with the Jets. Pesce chose New Jersey. Roy chose the Caps. I don't see any good options in the trade. What do I want to see them get? Given the choice? Top 4 RHD.
We've got the young talent to fill the top 6 "hole" internally, I see no reason to go out and get one. But a top 4 RHD? Preferably one that is defense-first? Those are 2/3 years away in our system. Gimme a top 4 RHD that can defend.
I'm saying nothing about realism here. I am simply answering -- given the choice, which would I prefer? It just seems like there are no options on the market. DeMelo re-signed with the Jets. Pesce chose New Jersey. Roy chose the Caps. I don't see any good options in the trade.
The caveat is whether is a "what we want that is realistic" or "total dream".I read this poll as what we want or would rather have happen, not what will happen.
But I agree with you. The top 4 or 5 defensemen are set in stone.
Hard to feel it’s complete without a single useful RHD on the roster. Samuelsson also seems guaranteed to miss 25+ games a yearI think the defense is set for years TBH.
Hr I'd pure 6-8Dman. Hr isnt a top 4. I dont mind if they signed him to s $1M press box D who occasionally plays. What about Kevin Shattenkirk as a depth vet right shot dman?
I'd say the same. Top 6 C who can play W.2C or preferably 1C
