No rush. I'd rather wait a week and maybe even get a couple more lists if possible

I agree. And it'd be nice if someone took it upon themselves to pm a few of those members who said they would, or maybe would participate and see if they still want to. There's a few name missing that surprised me. With the holidays some maybe just forgot to.

I'll be honest my list is pretty bad I think. It was a last minute submission, and I feel bad because I know others put a lot more work into it than me. But when I saw we only had 11 submissions, I really tried to get it finished in time, because if nothing else I figure I could be valuable by being a consistent and fair voter, which helps make these projects more credible.

I did have Joe Mullen on my list, just barely. All in all though, I was surprised by how few players I saw on the list of players who were listed that made me do a double take. I think that shows that there were a lot of good candidates and that there was a lot of thought put into lists, even if a few of them were rushed at the end. Hopefully that bodes well for the final product.

I've got one of them on my list. Some of those names really stick out in a bad way to me

Took my first look at what the aggregate will probably look like. Good drop-off after #211, so this project will likely by looking at 111 players in total (which goes well with our target of starting with 15 and adding 5 per round for 19 rounds more rounds).

Highest ranked players who were not named in the previous project landed at #98 and #99, while the lowest ranked players from the previous project only fell to #101 and #102 - so there’s no indication of any massive shift in opinion that would make running a sequel project like this a bad idea or anything.

There are a few sensible places to jump out of the project if it dies down. If we abandon ship at the halfway point, this potential aggregate can justify it.

Patrick Kane appears to be the big mover for players from the previous project, but it’s nothing so substantial (~10 spots) that it would make the old list seem wildly outdated in comparison to the new list.

Hopefully this alleviates some of the concerns many of us had going into this.

Are we still on course to start this on the 11th?

Yes. The aggregate is pretty much finalized, unless we get a last minute objection. We mapped out who becomes eligible and when, so the project will mostly be on auto-pilot. Three people have the master list, so we have backups just in case something happens.

Right now, I’m just working on the extra flourishes (highest, lowest, median, rank vs. 2019-2020). And formatting the new sticky thread for the final list.

Hard work is done, so now it’s just fun with numbers until Monday.

There's an awful lot of goalies on that list.

For people with less time on their hands than myself:

Alec Connell
Bernie Parent
Bill Durnan
Billy Smith
Carey Price
Charlie Gardiner
Charlie Hodge
Chuck Rayner
Clint Benedict
Curtis Joseph
Dave Kerr
Dominik Hasek
Ed Belfour
Eddie Giacomin
Frank Brimsek
George Hainsworth
Georges Vezina
Glenn Hall
Grant Fuhr
Gump Worsley
Hap Holmes
Harry Lumley
Henrik Lundqvist
Hugh Lehman
Jacques Plante
Jean-Sebastien Giguere
Jiri Holecek
John Ross Roach
John Vanbiesbrouck
Johnny Bower
Jonathan Quick
Ken Dryden
Martin Brodeur
Miikka Kiprusoff
Mike Liut
Paddy Moran
Patrick Roy
Pekka Rinne
Percy LeSueur
Roberto Luongo
Rogie Vachon
Roy Worters
Sergei Bobrovsky
Seth Martin
Terry Sawchuk
Tim Thomas
Tiny Thompson
Tom Barrasso
Tom Paton
Tony Esposito
Turk Broda
Tuukka Rask
Vladimir Dzurilla
Vladislav Tretiak

By my count that's 53 goalies out of 323 players, or 16.4%.

I didn't set out to make this point (I was mainly just interested in the list of goalies) but 1/6 is 16.7%. So we are exactly 1 goalie short of perfect representation.

With that in mind, I move that we add Jim Carey to the list.

I didn't realize there could be changes to the original 100.

Is that the comedic goalie or the other Jim Carrey.
