I really do wonder about that. With the devaluation of the ruble vs USD (essentially halved over the past ~2 years), it may not be all that worthwhile for him to play over there if his goal is to use to eventually live in the U.S.
IIRC they used to pay in USD, but that obviously isn't (can't be) the case any longer. I'm not even sure how a guy like Tony can transfer any money he made there to an account he can access here. Do they pay in bitcoin?

Someone here has to know.
 
There are still crazy enough GM's in the league to sign TD. Buffalo or Philly inbound?
Philly had him for a year, then waived him for his 2nd buyout in 2022. They wanted to trade him back to Carolina but I guess you can't trade someone back and forth to the same team without retaining salary, hence the buyout, making Tony D the first player to ever be bought out twice.

No idea what actually happened but if the above post about the bonuses is correct? I can see that pissing of the other players, coaches and the owner.
