U want to add a racist who basically isn’t better then all the other defence that leaf fans ran out of town? Ceci, Barrie, gardener....

This isn't Be A GM mode where players are just numbers on the screen. These are actual human beings who have to live and work together as a hockey team. Our team wore Black Lives Matter shirts during the play-in. Rielly and Dubas are huge supporters of LGBTQ+. DeAngelo is a world class asshole and his archaic views would fit in as well as a live hand grenade in the dressing room. Dubas won't go near this guy at league minimum. And on top of all that, he can't play defense. He's a worse version of Tyson Barrie, who we are thrilled to be rid of.

I don’t know about that we have a distinct lack of character on this team outside of a few additions made this off season...he is a headcase apparently though so in that sense I agree

2014-15 Soo Greyhounds OHL 26 games 15 goals 36 assists 51 points

If your resume has the Soo Greyhounds on it, Dubas former alma mater, there has been increased interest on the GMs part in the past when it comes to player personnel issues.

DeAngelo has personality issue of great concern and got into a recent twitter debacle in social media expressing his views, outside of this fight with a teammate recently.

Despite being gainfully employed in the NHL, DeAngelo has a long history of being problematic. In junior, he was suspended for eight games under the Ontario Hockey League’s harassment, abuse and diversity policy for verbally abusing a teammate. He’s also been suspended for verbal abuse at the NHL level, targeting a referee while with the Arizona Coyotes.

While it will remain something of a cesspool off the ice, he has talent that is undeniable, but I personally wouldn't touch him with a 10 foot pole for the fear of bringing that into Leafs lockerroom.

Do you honestly believe him playing 26 games for the Greyhounds is going to make Dubas want to acquire this guy?
 
At a massively reduced salary I’d take him in a second. Cut him loose if he sucks. This is sports and it’s about winning. He is a pos but to write him off completely is biased speculation imo. Not a fan of him as a person particularly.

Dude is like Barrie except WORSE defensively ... a definitive NO ... it would make our team worse off even at total retention for 2 years

No probably because he’s been suspended twice for it. One in junior and once with the coyotes.

Gee I don't know, a player who apparently will never play for the Rangers again, has been suspended for racial slurs and abuse of officials. But it's all fake news right!?

Tampa drafted him knowing full well about his issues and hoped he would grow out of them. He was traded 2yrs later to Arizona who traded him a year later to NYR and now NYR is trying to get rid of him. How many chances do you give someone?

Without being hyperbolic even if the guy was free I would not want him on our team, let alone in our country. f*** him, I hope he rots in the KHL, where he will most likely end up

Once is bad enough but I was unaware of a second occurrence in Arizona. Is that actually verified? He was suspended for physical abuse of officials in Arizona.
