He's worth 4 mill. on a short term deal, great puck moving defenseman.

Not sure if he'll get it, due to NHL politics. There's a bunch of Pylons playing D, this guy is clearly in the upper echelon of NHL D in offense, I'm sure he could join a playoff contender, and, add some much needed puck moving abilities.

Pretty sure I heard David Quinn himself say in an interview that DeAngelo was a popular teammate. Maybe it's just the oversensitive public and the PR situation that is the issue.

You can't ruin the narrative that the people who have him have created. In their mind they know all they need from a bankrupt website "sports" story about it. The facts that show the total opposite pale in comparison to something dumb he said as a teen, which despite what others think still hasn't been revealed as to exactly what he said, or an issue with a dickhead teammate, or issue with an official again while younger.

I hope the Isles keep him. He did really well here and improved puck moving on the power play.

It was a somewhat small sample size, but enough to show he's still a good player and outplayed the others with higher skill and money.

The problem is he's so bad in his own zone that he belongs in the AHL regardless if the offence. He's worse than useless and that's not even taking into account the character issues.

maybe even less. He wants to stay close to home and he's burned all other bridges in that department. Patrick Roy was running him out for 25 minutes sometimes. He's not going to find a better situation than he has here, and there probably aren't too many other GMs that are going to come knocking anyway.

The only reason he got a shot in the NHL this season was because the Islanders D corps was missing 5 starters at some point. He probably wasn't even expecting to get this shot... I have a feeling he's not going to f*** it up

issues seem to follow him wherever he goes, you want to argue against that feel free but its clear that it is an actual thing

if he acts normal and you view him just as a hockey player he can help the team. But less than half a season isnt enough for me to view him as being normal now

No one needs to stand up for him, the guys in the league will tell you the facts. Georgiev is arguably the most hated player in hockey. He may have a tough time finding a team
