DeAngelo has been really good handful of games for the isles. They’re in the midst of a 7 game win streak and with the key injuries to Dobson and Pulock, DeAngelo has been playing monster minutes.

Today he gets the OT winner against Tampa, the team he was originally drafted by.

Honestly would love to see this guy turn it around and become a dependable d man. The Locker room issues were probably overblown by the media and it doesn’t help that the guy hasn’t been able to shut up about his political views but people can mature.

I don’t agree with Tony on anything off the ice but as a Canes fan he got a clean slate from me. His first go around with the Canes was borderline awesome. He was paired with Slavin and many people blindly put all the credit on that being the reason but TDA legitimately played very well. He busted his butt off to cover on D and made very few actual defensive mistakes. It was not Slavin covering for him as assumed. I was surprised the amount of times it was TDA that got back for Slavin and made a big play. He earned his spot on the team. He left for the bigger money and the Canes brought him back without any hesitation. He didn’t play nearly as well, but it really started with Orlov struggling early on as a Cane and TDA not being good enough defensively to cover for him and they sucked. Orlov was the big investment so it was TDA that was moved out of the lineup as soon as Chatfield and Orlov clicked.

Canes players loved the guy, and there was zero hesitation from his teammates here to celebrate with him. Going back to NY it seems like he’s very well received in the locker room. I don’t know about Philly because I wasn’t following but Torts was never going to like the guy.

We may need a center on the cheap too if Barzal is hurt again.
This was Roy after the game

What's even more fun is that George, Pulock and Mayfield were all assisted to those injuries. None of those happened to be self inflicted.
