In my experience watching the 3 on 3 on the AHL last season. I found the most important thing is winning the face off and puck possession. The face off is huge! You lose a face off in your own zone, and the puck will be in your net.

Last nights game:

Shore played great. PK well. Good positioning.

Weal, Mersch, Oneill. Somewhat quiet. Weal played well though, and played C.

PP many times featured 4 Fs. Usually TT, TP, JW, NS. Then throw in either McBain or McNabb.

McBain had a great game. Played great on the PP and played well with Forbort. Forbort played exceptional on D. Good position. Good along boards. Good passes.

McNabb played exceptionally well on the PP, and on the offensive blue line. In the D zone though, he was lacking, lots of his D weakness showed up there. The lone goal involved McNabb not being able to keep up with his guy out of the corner, and he got burned a few times.

Goalies weren't really tested too much, even on Az pp. Forbort, Gravel Shore Clifford all killed well.

Schultz looks too slow on his feet.

Kempe and his speed causes problems for other team. Had a good game. Zykov looks like he needs AHL. Not much going on.

McNabb DID NOT play the right side, as some reports suggested he would. Gravel played right side first half of game with him and then Loverde second half.

Awesome! Thanks!

The chemistry between TT and TP was there folks. It was like it never left. Dowd played a solid game between them. If Sutter were to like Dowd, and put him at 4c, I wouldn't be completely surprised. He's that good.

Andreoff had a great game as well. Good on PK. Some nice chances offensively. If other scouts are watching, my bet he wouldn't clear waivers.

Churpchura blindsided Kempe with open ice shot to the head, but he wasn't hurt. Almost all of the Kings took exception. Clifford McNabb Andreoff most notably. I thought we were going to have fireworks for a minute. Kempe just turned 19, and he's also smaller and of more small build than I thought he was. He looks like he's still growing. It will be interesting to see him in about 3 years. He could be special.

Did the Cryotes know that the game last night doesn't count toward winning the lottery?

Remind me again how many of those we won...:shakehead

3!

I figure if we win 7 out of 18 this year we'll be fine. Last year we had 95 points with that pathetic OT/SO record. Any movement towards .500 will set us up for the playoffs.
