How about a thread for the trade? Or do I have someone on my ignore list.

Well we are now younger on paper, so there is that.

If indeed Dubas can't fire Sully, then the only solution is to trade away as many vets as possible. Acciari, Nieto, etc, etc.

Then Sully can't do much than play youth.

"Hey, we got a former 1st rounder for nothing." - Me when they picked up Nathan Smith in 2007 and Boychuk in 2012.

But really, I make this trade 100/100. Curious everyone's opinion here, does this shoot down Trotz's comments about a rebuild? Or does it give validity that if you arent producing your ass is getting shipped out?

Yeah I think you pile up on the freebees like Glass, Puljujarvi & Tomasino. Young, cheap, and there’s still various amounts of upside there, particularly Tomasino. Strome, McCann, Verhaege, ERod are examples that took a while and it wasn’t a perfectly upward trajectory for them, and took a few changes of scenery in some cases.

We have genuine holes in the top 6 we can plug him into and see if he sinks or swims.

Acciari might bring a late pick at the deadline. Nieto just needs to be sent down. Ditto Gryzelcyk. Doubt it ever happens though.

71 points in 159 games is pretty decent with 12:35 TOI
At 23 years old there's still a chance to break out too.

I'm surprised Trotz gave up on him so quickly, and only to get a 4th?
.5 P/PG player just last season, and only 11 played this year.

Yeah, this is a Dubas W. Odds are pretty decent he can be flipped later for something better than a 4th. And if he's not, it was worth the effort.
