The team is in no man's land and is the most boring team in the league. There is no offensive zone strategy, just dump and chase and give up possession just like the Coyotes of old. The team is allergic to shots and regularly gets bodied in that regard, often putting up 3, 4 shot periods while the opponent doubles or triples that. The team never shows up on time to play, and the 1st period is usually a write off. The powerplay is horrendous, with zero movement and questionable personnel decisions every time. Some players are given zero leeway, but liabilities like Juulsen and Myers get endless rope with no accountability. The team is currently last in the league in Expected goals for , and thats is not a surprise given the low event, safe gameplan provided by this coaching staff leading to pedestrian results and hockey purgatory. Is it time for a change?

Never really understood stood why we were such a dynamic skating and scoring wagon the first half of the 2023-2024 season and then it all fell off a cliff.

I heard on the postgame show we are last for shots on goal and last on shots on goal per game.

51 shot attempts tonight 15 hit the net.

Some of that has to be on coaching.

Penthouse to outhouse very quickly I see. Sorry. The dressing room has been a shit show and we have had key players injured

Let's just go all in and replace Tocchet with Sam Hallam.

Benefits:

- Pettersson's junior coach.
- team Sweden's head coach so we continue our trend of Swedish flair.
- his name offers itself to a lot of fun rhymes and the in house dj will play that "black Betty" song non stop.

Win win win.

I am not sure what to think anymore. Sure you can fire Tochett, but that's just another notch on the belt. Short hotstreaks with Boudreau and Tochett then the team dies. Been through a bunch of coaches as of late. The team plays good and then things go stale. Not sure how many coaches you can go through before you start to question the players. What does it take with this group. All the BS this season, Miller/Pettersson fiasco, distractions in the lockeroom. The players themselves need to be held accountable.

Fire Tochett sure, but this crap will keep happening with this group until something else is changed. Regardless of a new coach or not.

Early in the season it was a blueline which looked more like road pylons and fire hydrants--they've been at least partially successful in fixing that.

Now the problems are up-front, which is harder to fix with just 25 games left in the season Once you get past Debrusk and Boeser, the scoring from the wingers just falls down a manhole.

Trouble is they have too many of the same kind of wingers. Smallish, not great skaters, and can't win puck battles and get to the net. Not sure there's enough time left to fix it this season. But more size and speed up-front has to be a top off-season priority.

This is a perfect time for a coach like Bruce. He would at least let the players fly and regain confidence. The team structure would suffer but at this point it does not matter since at this point we are 1st round cannon fodder at best. At least the games would be more fun. That being said, the team is almost devoid of offensive talent.

He keeps saying this but his low event hockey has followed him wherever he has coached.

Honestly last year was exciting and some of the best structure I've seen since before Willie.

The team must embody not the coaches' wisdom, but his personality. I just don't see the aversion to Hog and Petey together. It lasts like 4 games and when he quits is just when it's getting good.

Whoa. Metaphor.

Like if we are actually discussing this about a man who won a Jack Adams Award not 12 months ago, we seriously are the dumbest hockey fans alive.

Good coaches borrow, great coaches teach. I've seen a ton of development outside of certain players, not as players but as personalities. I find the personalities interesting again, much the same of successfuler Canucks teams in the past.

Thank you OP. That was cathartic. Hilarious title.

Anyone that wants to fire Tocchet just doesn’t know puck. Sorry.

Sucks to be wrong but it is what it is.
