I think it's quite typical that all the Leafs fans have picked Brodie in this thread.
The same way every Flames fan would have picked Brodie before they saw Tanev. In general, pretty much anyone who hasn't watched Tanev play consistently has slept on him for years and will continue to do so.
That said, some do have the right answer here I think: both are solid, probably depends what your team needs/who his partner will be.
Fun fact: Rielly and Tanev were a pairing at the WHC a handful of years ago and they were excellent for Canada.
Also, I will never forgive Jim Benning for a lot of things but letting a heart & soul warrior and perfect partner for our superstar D-man walk for nothing to a rival might be at the top of the list.
