Feel like Brandolini's law is in effect here...is Weekes joking or is he actually saying that the deal is done?
Devils fans, does a contract like this remove them from Hellebuyck contention and a future contract with him?
Clearly.Clearly Weekes is joking around here. They're not close to a deal.

Probably not. It's probably such a minuscule thing that's holding it up. I wonder if he gets a NMCHe may be joking about it being done right now, but I'd feel pretty good about thinking they are fairly close. I don't think this is going to drag
The word steal is liberally thrown around on this site.
If Hellebuyck really wants 9'sh, long term, I think that removes him whether this trade happens or not. That's not going to be a good contract.Devils fans, does a contract like this remove them from Hellebuyck contention and a future contract with him?

8 x 8.5 is a steal.
The dichotomy of man.8.5? That's gonna be rough in a few years from now
The dichotomy of man.
If he can produce like he did the last 2 seasons with SJ with 76 in 77 and 52 in 57 games with NJ instead of his 14 in 21 he had after the trade, yes, it would be a very good signing for NJ.8 x 8.5 is a steal.

NJ will always be a good rush team with the Hughes brothers, Bratt, Nemec, Hamilton, McLeod, Boqvist, etc.I don't think he will be as productive in NJ (they created a lot of high danger chances and generated a lot of changes off the rush. Just didn't seem to be his kinda' style to produce) but that's still a good contract even if he doesn't produce at the rate prior to the trade.

Hardest pass imaginableHelleybuyck 9.25 x 4 years
Completely agree. Goaltending is such a dice roll in this league unless you have one of three young Russian goalies.Hardest pass imaginable
