Montreal is just a bad team. They are desperate to get a win or loser point and it looks like they are playing a preseason game.

It's been a long time since we have had this depth. We could honestly play our 5th line and 4th dpair and would find success.

Just posting my daily playoff lines ; because it's fun to play with out depth

Foligno - Matthews - Marner
Galchenyuk - Tavares - Nylander
Hyman - Nash - Kerfoot
Thornton/Spezza/Simmonds - Engvall - Mikhayev

Rielly - Brodie
Muzzin - Holl
Dermott - Bogosian

Campbell
Andersen

That shutdown line would be unreal in matchups. At this point I'd maybe switch Sandin in for Dermott, but other than that, it'd be the same lines for me (at full health)

Montreal is such a pathetic 3v3 team. Circle back 10 times for every attempt at creating offense.

Calgary now officially out.
Getting closer to a Jets matchup for the Leafs. Interesting.

I don't know about that. Wouldn't Winnipeg have to lose tonight and both remaining games in regulation and Montreal would have to win their last game against EDM on Wednesday in order to overtake Winnipeg for third? Not much margin for error there.

Winnipeg looks incapable of winning a game, but so do the Habs so idk. It’s funny. If the Habs win their next game against the Oilers, and the Jets lose tonight and tomorrow, we could pick our first round opponent by how we do in the last game of the season.

Gotta think they can eke out 1 point in 3 games.....but I guess stranger things have happened

It's horrid.....but they've won 3 OT's in a row doing it

So now that the Calgary-Vancouver games are officially meaningless, maybe the NHL will start the North playoffs sooner?

Make those afternoon games so the playoffs games can be played at prime time.

But NHL won't do it because it's too logical.

Not sure why people are in such a hurry to get started.

Hyman, Foligno, Nash, Bogosian, even Andersen will all benefit with more time to heal.

Let the NHL take as much time as they want IMO

I want the Habs in the playoffs. If the Jets lose the next one as well, just rest everyone we can and play Andersen in the last game against the Jets to ensure we get the match up we want.

So are the opponents, they all have injuries to deal with, the playing field is leveled for all teams. The playoffs happen sooner the better IMO.

Bring on the Habs.

I want to see a healthy Leaf team with something to play for absolutely annihilate them. In every facet of the game. Get that elusive first round win in style against our arch rivals.

Let's do this!

I want Hyman on the first line when he returns. He scores the puck better than Foligno who should move to the third line. I also want Sandin in the line up.

Not bad.

The positive about the additions Dubas made, the manner in which Keefe employs them (keeps it fresh and differently), and, the players comfort with each other, is many permutations will work.

Imagine Foligno on the third line with Simmons? It would bring Kerfoot some weight he rarely has. It would then allow Hyman to play with M&M and turn our fourth into an experienced "slow down line" with some hidden winger offense (or a mid shift change up with Nash when the puck is deep in the offensive zone).

Always thought Winnipeg was tanking to play the Leafs. Backup goalie tonight? really

Since it's a back-to-back with the Canucks, either Hellebuyck would be in tonight or tomorrow. Maybe the thinking is they just need to win one, so put him in against a tired Vancouver offense? Then again, with Maurice who the hell knows.
