I can't find the stat but they flash it during Jets broadcasts quite often.I truly doubt we would be saying any good things about him if he was playing on the Sharks or Hawks. It helps when you are playing on a team with lots of depth and one of the best goalies in the league
36-8-2 this year with Samberg in the lineup, a 60+ win paceI can't find the stat but they flash it during Jets broadcasts quite often.
Samberg missed a chunk of time this year with a broken bone in his foot.
The Jets W/L record with and without Samberg is obscene.
Without him they were just over .500 in the games he's missed.
And you can see what our record is overall so it's clear he's doing very well and the team is a lot better with him than without.
Oh I’ve held him on my dynasty team for 6-7 years. I knewSamberg has been a steamboat since college. Many forget that he was a stud on the powerhouse UMD team in the NCAA and with the US u-20 world Junior team.
Mitch Brown wrote a really good scouting article about him at the college level saying he had all the makings of a top shutdown D at the NHL level.
Many in the US and Canada national media and fans just don't know him because they don't watch the Jets much and only look at point totals. Many astute fans and team reporters expected him to be a strong top 4 D, and he's more than fulfilled expectations this season. He's trending toward Slavin / Vlasic levels and is a big reason why the Jets are so good (and underrated).
By the way, the Jets have another terrific D prospect on the horizon, who is very strong defensively: Elias Salomonsson. You might not have heard of him from the pundits because his calling card is defense and he's with the Winnipeg organization.

Jets have cap space. How much do you want to hurt yourself to get it done? You're going to have to make that contract pretty awful.Honestly, offer sheet candidate imo
Jets match nearly anything, but I honestly don't think there is a single Jet that would sign one in the first place. Chevy is a grinder but he's fair, and our players find deals to stay. That's not the way this team operates.Honestly, offer sheet candidate imo
Teams with cap space don't get offersheeted. Kind of pointless.Honestly, offer sheet candidate imo
Jets play much better team D than Oilers.I would love to see the jets play in front of say Skinner from Edmonton and how bad their numbers would be
