I wonder how many STH,s did not renew. Looking at the HF poll it seems like at least 25%. I was told last year the number has been consistently in the 3-5% range for years. I would be surprised if that number deviated much again especially with the markets and the economy doing well and the fact that the Rangers even though they took a step back this year are still a very good team.

No way it's close to 25%. Prices didn't get jacked up that terribly (all things considered) and the team should be in the hunt for the foreseeable future. The 3-5% range is probably on target.

Maybe the new MSG is turning some people off
Also it was easy to become a STH last season and pull it off financially (I only took the lower bowl "hoping" for a shortened season due to a lockout) -- now I know for sure that I don't want to commit to those prices for an entire season

+1 on this.
Tipping Point

They had a 90 percent renewal which is actually low for them its normally 97-99 percent renewal

I have had season tickets since 2001 and I personally hate the new garden. I think its terrible...if it wasn't for the markup I get on my tickets and how easy I sell them..I would probably get rid of them.

I think there are many STHs who are like you. Who can go to 40+ regular season games a year? When the upper bowl was 40 or 50 bucks, it's no big deal to eat a few games. At $80+, it's a different story. I think the real exodus will happen in the 2014-15 season when the 3 pre-season games will be added back (assuming we don't win the cup in 2013-14). I bet the lower bowl renewal rate is much lower than the overall 90%.

When can I purchase single tickets? I'm interested in buying a 10-20 game pack and going to about half of those games and selling the rest via stubhub

I would say thats a safe assumption ;)

In essence having to buy 3 pre-season games is like paying 7% more per ticket for the regular season games.
I figured with the exorbitant ticket prices and price increases we have been paying the last 3 seasons that they priced the regular season tickets to make up for the lost pre-season revenue.

Well, if you're talking about individual game tickets, those go on sale in October. Mini plans work like Season Ticket plans. You need to submit info and you'll be contacted.

Upper bowl is probably right around 95% renewal, lower bowl more like <85%

It's not even about the money to be honest..I was sitting with the same people for 12 years and no everyone moved all over the place..I feel like the seats are tighter than ever and the corridors are more packed then they have ever been. Also feels like the garden lost its mojo a little

Yep I did not renew. My rep said she'll be in touch once the upgrades are done.
Also she said if I was sure I didn't want seats in my current price point I should not renew.

Anyway, if there's something decent left over I will consider another year as sub

I didn't renew my gallery 1 row seats either. She left me in the downgrade pool, but I doubt I will renew in any event. Prices on stubhub seem pretty good, especially for last minute tickets.

I didn't renew my upper bowl seats due to price increase and the upcoming bridge that will block the score board.

did you request to stay with those people?

The bridges are a plus for me in terms of renewal. I figure so many people will hate having the bridges in their face that my row 4 tickets will be in much greater demand

I have been trying to keep an open mind about the bridges until they actually exist, but it is really hard to imagine how they will add to the experience for many people in the building.

The only positive I could find is that 1,000 more people will be in the building so hopefully the atmosphere will be better. Other than that, it sucks from a fan perspective.

I wouldn't count on it. I really do not think it is going to have much of an impact.

Unless the buyers are actively aware that the upper rows of the section prevent you from seeing the scoreboard, i don't see a much change in the demand in that people simply are willing to pay more for a higher row per section.
