Ticket/Attendance Discussion: The Sequel

Thanks gmoney!! And yea there is a pay as you go - which I selected. Just apprehensive about how far the jets will go now. lol

As I’m from out of province - that’s good to know about scalping! The ticket prices through the jets/ticketmaster fluctuate quite a bit in based on demand. So I guess I’ll just watch for prices on ticketmaster than post in there (or preferably fanfirst)

Any fanfirst users out there - easy to set up and use for an old man that is scared TikTok?
Fansfirst is all I use to sell tickets. The seller pays the fees, so no fees for the buyer. Easy to setup and use.

Put your tickets up for sale. You set the price and their system tells you exactly how much you will make.
If your tickets sell, you get a text / email, you then go to your Jets account and transfer the tickets to Fansfirst. Fansfisrt then send your tickets to the buyer. So, no interaction between seller and buyer. After the game, you get paid the next business day.

And if you have any issues , their support helps you right away, not days later like TM.

How does price setting fit into gmoneys comments about scalping and its legality?

Yup, and you can make a little extra $$$ as you set the price of your tickets to whatever you want. Im usually able to make triple on my Banjo Bowl tickets every year to some watermelon heads from Sask.

I generally sell to recoup my costs for games I just can't get to, so I don't put too high a price on them, because I want them to sell, but that's just me... JMO... and I'm no lawyer... but Fansfirst is based outside the province, so I guess technically you are selling outside of Manitoba... and I think the gov't have just given up trying to enforce something that can't.

I use my PC as well for Fansfirst.

Thanks!! Super helpful man, really appreciate it!

I am going to take the same approach - sell to recoup costs. I want people to be able to go and not be a gouger. At the same time I don’t want to be too much of an outlier for pricing. I’ll just follow the pack for pricing - if it’s not unreasonable.

I'm confident now that the Jets are not moving with me to Mexico. Living DT for 40 years and seeing Eaton's and The Bay leaving I'm forced to shop at Giant Tiger now. The 4 dollar underwear just doesn't last. Next to leave will be the grocery store, but the Jets are safe because you can't steal anything from the Jets. Chevy is tight too.

I’m not sure I understand your post.

Are you for and against Giant Tiger?

And qualifying residing in downtown Winnipeg for 40 years as “living” seems like a stretch.

Ah, I knew there was talk about rescinding the scalping law, but I didn't know it actually happened. Sounds like @Mad Dog Tannen would've been able to avoid any issues anyway because he's out of province and I don't think Fans First is headquartered here either. As they said it was pretty tough to enforce.

AI. It’s just the worst.

hey there - would love some advice from a veteran season ticket holder regarding playoff tickets!!

I am a first year quarter weekender package holder (live out of province, but wanted to support)

Anyways - this was the first time I went through this process, and didn’t realize I needed to purchase 16 games for all 4 rounds.

I’ll be able to got to 1 a round if I’m lucky. lol.

So like - I need to sell the rest - I was not expecting the ahem “fiscal commitment”. Curious on a few things:

1. Where is the best place to sell tickets (I have never sold a ticket before - stubhub?)

2. Should I be worried about tickets selling for face value - I really do need to make the money back, at least to break even, for the games I am not attending - which I assume will be all but 2 or 3.

3. For timing - when is the best time to put them up for sale - like, can I put up game 5 before game 1 is even played? What if someone buys them but there is not game 5?

4. Pricing - how do I know how much to sell them for? What is an appropriate price relative to face value?

Thanks for bearing with me - am just a little freaked at the cost, and need a jets fan to hold me and tell me it’s gonna be ok. lol.

Oh - and the email from true North: “Reminder, purchase your playoff tickets from March 12 to 14th. Email was sent on the 14th at 10am. There was no first email that warranted a reminder (also spelling error they said quality instead of qualify. Who the f is reviewing these communications!!)

Anyways, I did t see the email until th morning of the 15th, due to, you know work, and life. I was mortified to see my window had closed. Only to then realize it didn’t and I could purchase tickets. Apparently the window was all weekend - no email sent to clarify. My god. This is basic stuff.

Cheers!
I just put down a deposit for quarter season tickets and didnt get any emails about playoffs. Did you just put down a deposit or are you quarter season ticket member for 2024-2025 season?

I’m a quarter season ticket holder.

I was you last year. You will get priority access to single game tickets before they go on sale to the public - by round.

So round 1 - when tickets go on sale - you will have a day to buy before general public.

You will be able to buy up to 4 tickets per game if you bought 2 quarter package tickets.

Edit: I recommend deciding on what game you really want to go to and focus on that - as soon as it opened up at 9am or whatever tickets were going fast. I’d select on seats and they’d be gone by the time I tried to buy.

I got tix for game 1 which is all I could really go to anyways. Was pretty happy. Price and seats were good (all upper bowl - which is what I wanted)

Good to know. Just hoping for 2-4 per game, upper deck, maybe on the goal line. Honestly row 12, last row, see the whole whiteout, lean and stand as much as I want. Hoping for a long run! Bring some family who haven't yet experienced the whiteout and treat my parents to a game or two.

The Jets sent me a booklet that outlines all ticket prices per round in the building. Add a little extra and your tickets should sell on fansfirst. If you try and sell on ticketmaster resale they add fees to the buyer that could hinder sales. It should not be a problem to sell playoff tickets unless you are charging more than the Jets.
I am not selling but my $197 a seat in round 1 likley sell for $297 by the Jets on ticketmaster .

It’s my understanding that when you lock in for playoff tickets it is the whole playoffs. You can either pay all 16 games at once or pay by round. It’s the payment schedule that changes not the commitment to buy tickets. It could be different for non full SSH but I bought an extra 4 seats for the playoffs last year and it was until the Cup Final.

On a side note I’ll gladly pay $393 CDN listed in my booklet to sit 14 rows from the ice and watch the Jets in the Stanley Cup final.

I just paid $300 to sit in row 30 for the Habs v Bruins this April. No, I’m not a fan of either team but if I am in a city with a team and a game is on I like to go the games.

I had last row season tickets when I was living in Winnipeg. They are great seats for precisely that reason. Stand whenever you want, lean forward even. And there's also a space behind the seats where you can put your coat, gloves or mitts, hat, whatever.

We are a season ticket holder through the business do I just call my rep to buy extra tickets for the playoffs or can I do it online? Yes I am mildly embarrassed I have to ask this question .

When I opted in for the playoffs a drop down box appeared asking If I wanted additional playoff tickets. It’s likely best to call your rep at this point. If I don’t hear from my rep by the end of the week I am going to get in touch. After a certain date last year I was able to log into my account, view all the available playoff seats and payment method and select the additional seats that I wanted for the entire playoffs.

Great!

Thanks very much.
