The offense is an absolute fraud. Bautista and Martin have cost them the last 2 games. Both of them make me sick

Bautista was the major factor in the game 1 loss. His strikeout with a guy on 2nd and 3rd is a major factor.

Ive said it before and ill say it again.

This jays offence is very hit and miss, very good against bad pitching, very bad against good pitching.

We need to get rid of JB, move martin to bottom of the order, and sign EE.

Feeling a little down for sure, but I am willing to give this team a chance to see if their bats can wake up at home. It's just feels like we're cursed, Toronto as a city. How do we get over the hump and get one of our franchises into a championship series? This year Jays have more experience than they had last year and they still can't win in the ALCS against a team that has none. I still have faith in the Jays winning all 3 home games coming up. We don't have Dickey going in game 4 like we did last year.

Wow. Tough loss, but Cleveland has been on a roll and was the home team.

Baseball is the only sport where home field advantage means something more than crowd noise. You get the last at bat, and it's in your park which is shaped differently than others and your roster is tailor made for it.

I can't believe how many people were giving up in the game day thread. Losing to Kluber was likely before the series. Losing on the road against Tomlin was bad, but they had 3+ innings of their shut down bullpen too.

The Jays are not out of it. They need to win the next game, and they will feed off the home crowd.

If people are throwing in the towel because Kluber could pitch 2 more times, look at the record in the last 30 years of dominant pitchers pitching games 1, 4 and 7 with short rest for the last two - it's not very good. It's definitely worse than if they get their normal rest.

The Jays will come back in game three. Don't give up!

Bautista was the major factor in the game 1 loss. His strikeout with a guy on 2nd and 3rd is a major factor.

But Bautista didn't strike out. The last pitch at 3-2 was almost a foot outside. In reality, Bautista walked and loaded the bases. Can't fault Bautista for making the right decision and walking.

In the fake world, based
on an ump that doesn't know the strike zone, Bautista struck out.

I judge Bautista based on the real world. Where he walked and loaded the bases. It's only in the umps fake world that he struck out.

So why does the umps fake world hold more weight than the real world? That's the mlb's problem. Not bautista's.

This Jays offense can be frustrating, if we are on it doesn't matter who's pitching for the other team. However if we aren't rolling we make 4th and 5th starters look like aces.

I honestly cannot believe how much he's regressed in a single year....If we had the Jose of last year this series is most likely tied. We need more young bats.

Sucks we lost both games by a score of 2-0 and 2-1. Just despicable offensive showing. But hey, that scores tells us the Indians are having trouble scoring against us, so lets not get too too down. Pitching is still on our side the next 4 of 5 games (excluding the Kluber one). So lets get it done, Jays. I think we will take the next 3 games, and win it in 7. Somethings gotta give. Stroman and Sanchez in game 7, all on the youngsters.

I'm not worried about our pitching/their hitting, it's the opposite. But if we can manage to play more games in Cleveland we have a chance. Just really hoping to take both Monday and Tuesday. I think we'd have a good chance to take the series. It's Kluber I'm really worried of.

Look at Martin. His defence isn't near what it was last year. His defence and Jose's offence from last year would give us a great shot to win it all.

if we can win game 3, its a must win obviously, we have a huge pitching advantage for Game 4 assuming Clevinger pitches that game. Sanchez vs Clevinger is an easy game if the jays show up. That would tie the series at two.
Then anything is up in the air. We would have the momentum and a rematch b/w Estrada and Kluber at home where Kluber hasnt pitched well at all. We can def win that and take a 3-2 lead.
Then all we gotta do is win one, just one, game at their field and go to the world series. We have the pitchers to do it. Game 6 would be pitched by Happ and Game 7 by either Stroman or Sanchez depending on who Gibbons prefers.

After all its called home field advantage for a reason, to take a 2-0 lead. That and the fact the Blue jays play their best when their backs are up against the wall (Look at the Boston series, Bal WC and Texas) should give Blue Jays fans tons of hope.
Those writing them off are no real fans. Jump on another Bandwagon, I heard the Cubs one is riding along real well :)

One guy has literally beat us so far. One guy. Lindor.
I don't get people jumpin off the wagon, we have shut them down so far as well except one guy. The series is still there for the taking. Just gotta win the next one.

Very good against bad pitching? This is the same team that just lit up two pretty damn good starters in Texas.

Agreed. Jays ain't done, all they need is momentum. That rides success, right now it's all mental -- when we played hot you can tell they're confident.

Dan Plesac thinks the jays have the edge and indians are too confudent, they werent great either.

Rewatched the game, so depressing. Start Pompey, get him on base. Hated when rajah stole two. Ugh!
