Movies: Thunderbolts

I like they brought the humour back. My problem with the DC universe is that they take themselves too seriously.
Well technically the DC Universe is only starting. Superman is supposed to be lighter. I guess Creature Commandos was the first DC Universe production and it was definitely funny, at times.

If anything I felt like they reigned in the humor and it was well balanced with this one. Like Cap was light on the humor but Thunderbolts was way more reigned in than something like Thor: love and thunder

Might be my favorite MCU movie since Endgame. Was on the fence about it, but saw it had good reviews and took the wife there on Saturday. She's not even a marvel person really, but she absolutely loved it. I really enjoyed the fresh take on the villain and the team up.

One of my favorite things about the MCU since day one was that everything seems connected - that it's all part of a bigger story. This is the first time it really felt like that in a while and they weren't just shoe horning in a character or leaving a cliff hanger for someone else to pick up. It's really felt like a good story within a bigger story. Definitely worth the watch.

Agreed...this was good. Like before, biggest knock is way too many trailers. Again, felt like I had already seen like a third of the movie.

One note that I haven't seen mentioned...if you're bringing a younger kid, the last third gets pretty intense. My 11 year old (who has seen a number of horror movies, mostly slasher) and friends came with and they were saying that it got pretty scary.

8:15 mark he starts talking about Taskmaster. Spoiler content so...

A superherohypecorums post:

So they were 2 weeks away from filming at that point before it got shut down, that means that Olga was initially going into the movie with thinking her role was completely different. But I guess once the strike ended Jake and the writers were re-evalutating the script and I guess they felt they weren't any stakes and kinda bloodless, so that's why they decided to off her early on. Listening to him on this interview, he seems to feel kinda guilty about it. But he also mentioned that if they had put in some brand new character just to get killed, it wouldn't have really meant anything.

Really liked it, I had a feeling what the * would lead to but was note sure. Sam Wilson suing them is great lol

One thing that sucked was Taskmaster being killed so early on which supposedly not what that writers had planned. So I am now guessing the after-credit scene will play out at the end of the F4 movie from the point of view of the F4 characters.

"I mean, everyone in there has suffered a ton of tragedy. But she was kind of the ultimate tragedy. In the old tragedy rankings, she was at the top, and the other, bigger personalities — no one could get out of line, because no one could say ‘I had it worse than you...And Ava, having won her autonomy earlier in the chronology than Taskmaster, was kind of big-sistering her a little bit, in a way of how to break free and be your own person.

On the comedy side, she was struggling with her own memory-loss stuff, and there was a gag where she just kept restarting the fight and forgetting that they had made up and become friends. They would be discussing the plan of how to get out [of the vault], and she’d just go after him again, and they’d all have to pig-pile on each other, and pull her off, and be like, 'No, we know each other! We’ve had this conversation before!'"... Bob was obviously having memory issues as a big part of his character...That could contribute as another reason why they chose to bring her out of the movie. "

Literally in the post above yours.

Good for you, I didnt read it and was posting my opinion of the movie and what I thought. Just because you post some video does not mean everyone watches it.
The main point was in the spoiler part. Because it was very spoilery, you just put it out there for the whole world to see.

The movie is out meh.
I think with movie's it's usually been about a week's wait before putting stuff "in public". Plus movies might not be released simultaneously worldwide. The first Avengers opened in my country a day before the US, had I posted spoilers a day or two later, would you still have been ok with it?
