Do you think this fella would be call up worthy if we traded Saad at some point?
If we are getting close to the playoffs, I think Dylan Peterson will be the guy they bring up. I think they should leave him down and let him be successful. build some confidence. You have to remember. In Finland, he never put up any numbers and wasn’t given much of a chance to. I think he’s just tapping into his offensive game.

Kaskimaki has been the pleasant surprise so far in Springfield. I was always a little bullish on him but he’s exceeded my expectations by quite a bit so far this season if I’m being honest. He can fly and has a nose for the net and that’s working out well for him in N.A. hockey so far. More than it did in the SM Liiga anyway. But he also didn’t get a lot of ice time there.

So you are watching this game, do you see Dvo as a dominant center or see anything dominant in this game that makes you think he will consistently contribute at the NHL level now or do you see a player who needs more seasoning?
The latter. You can see the talent, but he hasn’t been consistently impactful. He isn’t ready.

I have been watching these games and Dvo is not dominant even though he has been putting up points. He seems hesitant to carry the puck. When he does he looks more effective. He may need to improve his conditioning as well as he is usually the first one on his line to head for the bench. I’m hoping he has a good WJC and comes back with more confidence.

Needs to improve his quickness.

Agreed. Needs to improve on winning puck battles on the boards, but I think that will come as he gains confidence. Bolduc made this adjustment last year. Offensively he seems to have good timing and gets to the right spots. Also needs to improve on making the correct play when under duress.

It was the Bitten show last night. Surprised there was no Gordie Howe hat trick minus a fight. Thunderbirds had middle of the ice turnover trouble and Hartford just didn't capitalize.

Robertsson is getting his wheels back and is a very good two way player. I personally think aside from Dvorsky that he and Kaskimaki are our next best prospects at Springfield. He isn't getting many scoring opportunities, but his two way game is very similar to Kaskimaki's game. Both very good skaters.

I still like Skinner. He really has improved. Good a clearing the front of the net. Good first pass. He could play a role similar to Tucker on the right side.

I'm not sure what happened to Kessel. All of the sudden, he looks like a tweener at best.

Sylvie and Johannesson are above average players for this level. I don't know aside from a cup of coffee whether they will be pieces that will play a significant role at the next level. Johannesson is better defensively than Perunovich, but not as dynamic offensively. Very smart with the puck though. Could fill in on the power play. I still think long term (with seasoning) that Buchinger may be a better player than both. Sylvie could be a 4th line guy that could fill a hole in a game. I don't know that his offensive game will translate. He has a very good shot, but takes too long or isn't accurate. For old Blues fans....Hartland Monahan or Dave Lowry missing the net....haha.

Dylan Peterson is a very good player and a comparable for me would be Sunny or Dan Hinote. If he ever puts up 10-15 goals, then he is an all-star on your team due to all the other things he brings to the table. Very good to have besides.

I'm not. I think he's going to be better than we make him out to be. But I don't see him exploding offensively until middle of next season.
I would agree with this. He's still getting his footing. Much smarter and faster hockey players at this level and less time and space to work in. (as Dvo has found out.) While he makes good decisions with the puck, he will need to find a healthy medium between being confident in his talent and being conservative in his decision making. If he's too conservative, then he will probably never see the NHL. He will have to put some points up. I think he has a good trajectory going.

On the other hand, I don't see Gaudet being a player. I really liked Malmstrom when we got him, but he may run out of time like Gaudet.

I have a hard time seeing an NHL future for MAG and Malmstrom. They have stalled hard. I also think it's a very big Longshot for Mayich.

I can see any of Buchinger, Fischer, Burns, Koromyslov, and Ralph being good bottom 4 Defenseman in the NHL tho.

If the Blues can find a decently young center I'd Move Buchinger. Tho I am probably the one the most on his hype train.

Well....we need to draft a goalie. Cranley is a rebound machine, and he paid for it. Kaski had I believe his first 3 point night with 3 helpers. Outside of blowing his coverage on one of the goals, he played very well. Lots of forced turnovers, drew a penalty (usually good for drawing one)...just a problem for the other team offensively and defensively the entire game. I think he keeps improving game to game and as another poster mentioned....he may be first call up.

Then again, I don't know who Matt Luff is or where he came from, but he just can't seem to stay off the score sheet. He took over the scoring lead for Springfield and is on a point per game clip. He seems to have a nose for the net. Late bloomer?

I don't know where Loof has been the past two games, but you can tell he isn't in the lineup. Without Tucker and Loof, there is no one doing the heavy lifting other than Skinner. The rebound control wasn't very good at all.

Another strong night for Robertsson. Just a smart guy who knows where to be. I'm not sure how he keeps somehow even tied up...kick or stick flip the puck on the boards to his teammates. Nice little skill. I would still like to see him push the pace more and be more confident in his ability. I think he needs to quit being so conservative and challenge some of the defenders more. They had him out at the end of the game and he picked up a helper on Skinner's goal. Maybe when he doesn't get stuck with McGing as his center, he will get more opportunities. He and Sylvie seem to work well together.

Sylvie played a great game. Beautiful pass for a layup. Also scored a nice goal. Strong on the boards.

I would like to see them put Kaski at center between Robertsson and Sylvie and let Peca center Dvo and Luff. McGing, Laffy, and Peterson, Dickinson Newkirk and Bitten. I'm hoping maybe someone like Stancl and/or Snuggie may be able to come in at the end of the year for a boost in the playoffs, as I think Kelowna won't make the playoffs. Springfield could contend in the playoffs as these kids keep getting better.
