Hate to break it to you Whiskeypete, but Reebok owns CCM (both are part of the adidas group).
If you haven't noticed, the refs don the CCM logo on the back of their uniforms.
The only options the NHL has to consider when their contract with Reebok expires is Nike, who make the international hockey jerseys. Not sure if another company will enter the fray, like Under Armour, but I figure they don't have the funds to obtain the NHL license.
you are correct. keep forgetting that RBk bought their way into the market and destroyed to many good names, Jofa is another one. amazing how many guys still hunt for 'lightly' used jofa elbow and shin pads.
i think the league needs to just put it out there and tell them its time to bring back CCM, or lose the contract. go back to the traditional style, cuts and fabrics the jerseys should consist of....or else.
i guarantee bauer will be keyed up and ready to bid for the deal.
this how the CCM ---> RBZ stick came about. adidas owns taylor made golf, which makes the RBZ clubs. naturally they took the science and skill for club shaft design to the CCM sticks.
