Hate to break it to you Whiskeypete, but Reebok owns CCM (both are part of the adidas group). :(
If you haven't noticed, the refs don the CCM logo on the back of their uniforms.

The only options the NHL has to consider when their contract with Reebok expires is Nike, who make the international hockey jerseys. Not sure if another company will enter the fray, like Under Armour, but I figure they don't have the funds to obtain the NHL license.

you are correct. keep forgetting that RBk bought their way into the market and destroyed to many good names, Jofa is another one. amazing how many guys still hunt for 'lightly' used jofa elbow and shin pads.

i think the league needs to just put it out there and tell them its time to bring back CCM, or lose the contract. go back to the traditional style, cuts and fabrics the jerseys should consist of....or else.

i guarantee bauer will be keyed up and ready to bid for the deal.

this how the CCM ---> RBZ stick came about. adidas owns taylor made golf, which makes the RBZ clubs. naturally they took the science and skill for club shaft design to the CCM sticks.

The material for the Reebok jerseys is far superior to the CCM stuff. When I wear a CCM jersey when I play it's like wearing a sauna suit. That said I'm 190lbs and I wear a XXL and it's still tight in the arms, could be because of the pythons though:sarcasm:.

you're around the same size as me. the elbows down to the forearms in my jerseys are are tight. most of mine have always been the CCM - Maska type air knit material.

the Rbk's don't feel as tight, because the fabric is lighter and stretches. there in lies my problem. the material that Reebok uses is a softer and lighter material, which is prone to snag, rip and tear easier.

i prefer the heavier material that was used in the old days. it lasts longer and will take more abuse.

i could be wearing a tank top and im still sweating like a farm animal, so neither one is better than the other in this department.

I picked up Gagne's Game Issued Vintage jersey from Meigray. I probably paid too much for a jersey that was never worn but i'm happy with it. Probably my favorite jersey now in my collection.

That's a nice looking jersey. Curious marketing strategy to have a popular jersey not read for sale to the public. Does any other team in the NHL currently have a jersey the team wears that cannot be purchased?

It is because it is a special use jersey. Right now since they have moved all production back to Canada they can't even keep up with the normal jerseys. We should be able to get it next year since it is becoming our 3rd.

Yesterday, Icethetics reader "Tyfighter77" shared a list of third jersey dates he attributes to "Kings TV analyst Jim Fox during Tuesday's game." This is regarding the black and purple sweater.

That's taken straight from the link.
It could mean both but I doubt it.

I just don't understand why the Kings twitter feed would be so vague about it. Just say they're retiring the black 3rd's if that's the case.

It's a case like i mentioned already the Forum blue and gold is a special use jersey right now. So it's not even really part of our lineup per say. I know it's listed on the uniform database but that is not official. So there is nothing really to retire. It's never been avail to the public at large. Where the current third has been.

just retiring the current 3rds, not the legends uniforms. next season the legends uniform set becomes LA's 3rd set thank goodness. by then hopefully they will be available for sale once RBK gets their crap together
