To BUF:
Necas - $6.5 UFA 26-27
Huberdeau - $10.5 UFA 30-31
Rights to Nelson - maybe worthless, maybe sign and trade.
CGY 1st 2025 (Panthers original pick - obv will be bottom 8 at minimum)
CGY 1st 2026 (Knights original pick top 15 protected)

- A lot going on and trying to bring in some value for losing Byram/Peterka potentially, but comes at the expense of Tuch which Im guessing no BUF fans will like, but assuming he wont re-sign there.

To CGY:
Byram: RFA signs 8x$x
Peterka: RFA signs 8x$x
Girard: $5M UFA 27-28
- Gets rid of the old guys and their cap hits and starts the rebuild with young RFA's. Paying to get rid of that Hubby contract with 1sts and Buf is one of the few teams that can absorb it.

To COL:
Kadri: $7M UFA 28-29
Tuch: $4.75 UFA 26-27
-Goes again with the win now mode. Gets their 2C back and basically a swap Necas for Tuch because I cant stand Necas right now. I wanted to go Thompson, but because of his contract he is near untouchable value wise.

Value aside. I'd argue that Calgary gets worse in the short term and gives up two firsts that could very well be top 5-10 picks with a move like this.

It's a move that could and likely would backfire tremendously. We struggle to score as is, and this only further compounds the issue.

Just not a move that makes sense.

Edit : I see it's a 2025 1st and as Quatre mentioned we don't have that. I read it as 2026/2027 1st's.

Calgary doesn't have their first this year, Montreal does

CGY doesn't hold their 2025 1st.
Value is horrible for the Avs.

Calgary doesn't have their first this year, Montreal does
Right i assume the worst ones.

Aves do fairly in this trade. But they gave up multiple picks and prospects and roster players just to end up back with Kadri.

Aves need a rebuild so they should never do this. But the Kadri wasted assets trade tree needs to get bigger until every team can link it to a cup win.

It takes sincere effort to come up with a trade proposal this bad for Buffalo.

Much appreciated.
So lose Byram, Peterka, and Tuch for peanuts/nothing potentially? Watch both RFA's get offer-sheeted and all you get are more picks.

I’m gonna guess that you are a Calgary fan

I actually think CGY gets the crap end of this, but gets out of Hubbys deal. Buffalo gets the most but their fans are delusional overvaluing RFA's that want to leave and assuming Tuch will stay. Basically a wash for COL

They don't need a rebuild but more a retool

lol they have the same UFA year currently. No guarantee either stays with their current team.
With Tuch there is at least a chance e (re-)signs with Necas we already know he won't sihn in Buffalo mr. lol

None of that is true and it is easily arguable Necas > Tuch value wise. I wanted Thompson but there really isnt a deal that makes sense for the Sabres to move him. They'd want a 1C which no team would move for him.

We would love JJ to sign an offersheet... would make life easy.. we would just match.
