Kendrick and Lin Manuel Miranda have been merging into the same person for a while now. I didn't like Mr. Morale but loved everything that came before. Listening to this one now. He's neglecting the beats, that's the problem and been the problem for a while.

On IPAs: Avery Maharaja is the best one I ever had, love Dogfish Head's stuff (if it's still the same now), but most are just so flavorless and hoppy. Like coffee in the US vs. South America or Europe, some people here have a hard-on for enduring whatever they drink as opposed to balance.

I haven't stopped listening to Propagandhi since the first week of November. How their sound was when they starated vs. now.... what a progression. They only got better.

That guitar is very In My Time of Dying but the drums and vocals are very different. It’s an interesting sound. Thanks for sharing.

This Apple ID thing is now causing all kinds of problems. My ESPN+ was cancelled like I knew it would be, I guess because my Apple Pay has been disabled. So I went and made a new account.

I logged in on the app on my phone with the new account and it doesn’t let me watch anything lol. I don’t know why. If I log in on my desktop or another phone it’s fine.

And it should be fine on my TV, but I have no clue how to log out of the old account on there. I guess I have 10 hours to figure it out before the game starts. Or I have to watch on my old and slow and lagging desktop, which is not reliable enough for livestreams.

I’m waiting for the day to come soon where I can no longer order food on one of the apps because of this bullshit.

I’m not sure if I’ll be able to get someone from Apple on the phone, but I’m really pissed about this. They delete my ID for no reason or without warning?

Did you try Apple Support? There's a ton of threads on how to get your Apple ID back. I know you want it to work right away but there's a form that you can submit with your issue, I think they ask for proof of payment.

I haven’t tried it yet, but I will in a few days when I calm down. It’s pissed me off so much the last two days.

I’ve read maybe I violated their terms or something. The only thing I can think of is one thing. Probably just a coincidence though.

My buddy does Uber and about a year ago someone left their EarPods in his back seat. I don’t think he knew who. If he did I know he would have given them back. So he gave them to me.

I had them stashed away somewhere and never hooked them up, but I did a couple weeks ago. It told me the user they belonged to had it registered to their account and they could know I was using them? Maybe they filled something out that I stole their EarPods so it killed my account?

Had this person wanted them back, I gladly would have given them back. I don’t know who they belonged to, but I figured I’d use them. I would have even sent them to the person had they contacted me. But this person could have been anywhere by now, whether it was locally or the North Pole for all I know.

But I used them the same way someone would have used money they found if they didn’t know who it belonged to. I wonder if that f***ed everything up for me?

I had no idea that they could be connected to a ID, what a pain in the ass. Looking into it that person can track them if they have the Find My app I believe. I don't know how you got them to work though.

They did have that find my app.

Either they reported me for stealing their EarPods (which they had to have lost at least a year ago) or Apple detected suspicious activity because I hooked them up when they were assigned to another ID.

If I knew that was gonna happen I would have just sent them back to the person. But I don’t know who the hell the person even is or where to find them.

I don’t know if they realized they left it in the back of the Uber when they were missing or thought maybe they were jacked from them by someone they knew or something.

So it sounds like that’s what caused all of this?

I’m not so sure that it would mess with your ID or signing into stuff. There have to be tons of people that borrowed or tried to use the friends or families AirPods. That would be a pain for them to deal with all the time.

oh hell yes!!!!

ive been playing a framus texan guitar from 70 or 71 since early mid 90s. its been played and worn well and taken some lumps over the years. i even left it out in the rain one night ages ago with the sound hole facing up.

today i found the exact same model and era at a music shop 20 minutes away. 150 cash.

im f***ing ecstatic right now.

edit: forgot to add that they both had pickguards on them when i got them...the first thing i did when i got the 'new one' home was remove it.

I’ve never heard of Framus before…but I absolutely love the natural wear on yours. People pay good money to have their guitar artificially look like that

I got my free turkey from the grocery store last night because I spent the proper amount of money this month to be eligible for one. Tonight, my wife is going to the Mexican grocer to get the same spices that you use to make pozole. The plan is to rub the turkey in the spices, brine it for the next three days (we're going to Connecticut for our Thanksgiving), and then cook it Friday.

I made my first turkey last year rubbed in a cajun spice mix and brined for two-three days. I'm not ashamed to admit that I got the idea for a three-day brine from that one Thanksgiving episode of Bob's Burgers. It was the best damn bird I've ever had. We got the idea to make a pozole spice rub from the woman who cleans our apartment and looks over our foster baby for three hours a day when my wife does the busiest part of her workday (she works from home, thankfully). I'm really looking forward to how this turns out.

There's been a lot of talk over the years that turkey is the worst part of the Thanksgiving meal. Now that I have the experience of making one, I can safely say that's a skill issue. There's no reason why it should be dry.

I had their first album when it was brand new. I was still in high school! I think I saw them back then, they toured a little more back then, but not too much.

They must be even older than I am (probably not even by 10 years), at least the original guys, which I think is just the guitarist/singer and drummer.

They may have added new members, another guitarist. The original bassist left the band after a couple of albums and started The Weakerthans, who I don't even think are still a band anymore, but they were for a while.

I thought I read somewhere that the original bassist (Weakerthans guy) left the band because they were always getting threatened by nazis for their lyrical content and he was afraid for his life?

In the early days they sounded a lot like NOFX, but with more serious lyrical themes, but still a lot of humor. Which is no surprise, since Fat Mike signed them to Fat Wreck.

"How to Clean Everything" is a great album. I also have one of their more recent albums that isn't as good as their older stuff.

I think I'm going to get a lot of mileage out of this song for the next... I don't know how many years.

I think the last album I had by them or the most recent is Today's Empires, Tomorrow's Ashes?

I still listen to a lot of the stuff from the first 3 albums I wanna say? I also had the one album on CD that they put out on their own label with the rarities and B-sides and early demos?

I still have a bunch of their stuff on my Apple music. Or I HAD it on my Apple Music before everything was deleted a couple weeks ago. You can't get their albums on their own label on Apple Music, nor Spotify if I'm correct.

I've heard some of the newer stuff. It's cool, I don't listen to it like the old stuff though.

They would always go long periods of time without putting out records. Nowadays you can go 5 years without putting out a record, but I remember in their prime they were going like 3, 4, 5 years without releasing an album. I would bet that 2017 album with the Casino Pier out in the ocean after Sandy on the cover is their most recent?

They also had that song Dear Coach's Corner which was roasting Don Cherry. They're from Winnipeg and as big of hockey fans as anyone from Winnipeg, but I don't remember any of them ever elaborating on who their favorite team was or what players they loved. One of the songs on that album metaphorically references the infamous Steve Smith gaffe from the 85 WCF I know some of them even played in beer leagues and stuff like that. When they first started out the original Jets were still in Winnipeg and then left.

John K Samson is the original bassist who left to form the Weakerthans. I wouldn’t be surprised if they got threatened for their lyrics, but I don’t think John left because he was afraid for his life lol. This sounds like a completely made up internet rumor.

From being massive fans of both bands and also reading interviews and articles, John left because him and Chris creatively butted heads. Chris, with a clear heavy/hardcore/thrashy influence, wanted the band to get heavier and continue to be political. John wasn’t as big of a fan of playing that style and wanted to go a more poetic and narrative songwriting route.

John leaving was the best thing that could have happened to Propaghandi. The Weakerthans put out four incredible albums and Propaghandi refined their style and put out their best albums too, with Supporting Caste being an absolute masterpiece.

You get two camps of Propaghandi fans:

Those who love skate punk Propaghandi and those who think this era is silly and juvenile.

I’m in the latter group. Less Talk, More Rock is way better than How to Clean Everything though.

Sounds awesome. We’re hosting again, I expect this is going to turn into the annual tradition.

Here’s what I’m making:
Mushroom Wellington
Garlic Mashed Potatoes
Sweet Potato Goat Cheese Tartlets
Brussels Sprouts
Mac and Cheese
Saag Paneer

Others are bringing other dishes. Should be good.

Now that I think about it, I think it was the other guy (Chris) who said that John and I guess all of them were taking a lot of shit from the nazis, but I guess he didn't say he left the band because of that.

I remember listening to this on a podcast with Chris years ago. It was probably pre-podcast era. In the early to mid 00s.
