So that’s the before picture? Was the after picture next to the steaks and burgers?
No the after picture is me pouring sweat after I called the rancher and told him two cows were loose and we chased them for 2 hours back into an open gate.

I'm too old for that shit.

Is your life a bad cop movie now?
Glover was a good cop. And it was a great movie.

Rough week for me last week. My dad died on the 5th. I feel more relieved than sad because the past year or so, he was living without dignity in a memory care facility. He had dementia as a long-term effect of full brain radiation in 2007, and pandemic isolation really kicked it into high gear. If not for that, his deterioration would have been more gradual, perhaps another 5 years. Luckily, the entire family was there- my mom, my sister, both of our spouses, and my foster baby. I'm fortunate to have been there, and so was my sister since she lives on the other coast.

That sucks and it’s good to see you have some perspective and family support. My mother in law is sliding into dementia and it is sad to watch. Thanks for trusting us with that and hopefully we can provide a bit of distraction for you here. Hang in there.

The worst part is that he was still aware of what was going on to a degree. Like, he knew where he was, he always knew who his friends and family were, etc. But he spoke less and did less. Kind of a worst of all worlds situation.

Luckily, I have family to keep me grounded. Foster parenting has made me feel more at peace with the world around me, like I have a purpose.

Sorry for your loss. Family is the only thing that can help ease that pain.

Beyond pathetic fight, people got duped while Tyson and Jake Paul are laughing to the bank

To be fair, I'm not much of a boxing fan. I was mostly just hoping Paul would get his ass knocked out. But we can't have nice things anymore apparently.
It’s been suggested that this was possibly a work.

Part of me was expecting something like them to hug each other in the ring before the opening bell and to raise each other’s hands and not even fight. That would have been kind of hilarious, but everyone would have been pissed.

I find it hard to believe Tyson can’t beat him. I know the 30 year age difference, whatever. But it’s not like Tyson is fighting a legit ranked boxer.

It was a reality check. It's no surprise when NHL players in their 20's can look old and slow at times. Bit sad to see, just like Redwings getting point farmed by the Ducks :*(

Paul is a garbage boxer, he goes after names or former UFC guys who have no background in it. It was probably just agreed to make each other throw some good punches and go to distance most likely. I doubt Paul wants to knockout a guy who was just in a wheelchair in May of this year and probably the biggest legend in the sport.

I don’t know who the PBP guy is but he’s the boxing equivalent of Buccigross and needs to take a long walk off a short pier.

He did WWE for a bit, I don't mind him because I knew him from that but yeah the voice can be a bit annoying lol

This did somewhat bring back great memories for my best friend and I of when we would watch all the big fights on pay per view back in the day. We watched the Buster Douglas fight (Tyson’s first loss) as kids.

We both agreed this was the dumbest fight we watched since the 89 seconds of Tyson vs Peter McNeeley in 1995 in Tyson’s first fight out of prison lol.

I’d like to watch a good boxing match. I think it’s lost its popularity with the rise of UFC. I can’t even name a modern boxer at this point.

It’s something I followed deeply in the 90s, but lost interest in after that. I’d even watch the stuff on HBO and Showtime back then.

MMA is a bit traumatizing for me. I feel like I’m getting CTE just watching some of the brutal blows to the head.

Jake Paul is a bully. He only fights people he knows has no chance of beating him. I don’t know what people were expecting.

I asked how boxing turned from something everyone knew into something completely irrelevant, and the answers I got were MMA and corruption.

Jake and his team are fantastic at marketing and that's all this stuff is. I didn't watch but if you thought he was going to knock Mike out or Mike was going to knock him out you have nobody to blame but yourself. The whole thing was setup to give Mike one last big payday and have Jake "earn" Mike's respect. Jake murdering an old man or getting knocked out by an old man was never going to happen because it's "bad for the brand"

The only good thing I have to say about Jake is at least he pays everyone well, including the undercard. Something that the UFC and Dana White would never dream of doing.
