Already got one 1rst with Kuzmenko AND a AAA RHD prospect in Brzustewicz.A lot of people are expecting to see Kuzmenko traded by the TDL.
I expect that too as extending him will likely be expensive since he's currently making $5.5m a year.
However can we ever seriously expect to be able to get a 1st rnd pick for him?
the only rental winger to return a 1st last year at the deadline was Henrique and he came with Carrick and frankly the Oilers massively overpaid, in part because they had no other assets to trade. Even Jake Guentzel only returned a conditional 1st.If Kuzmenko scores at his usual rate then a 1rst + is likely and more than possible. Healthy 35+ goal scorers in their prime are valuable
My bold opinion is that Huberdeau and Kadri will combine for less than 82 points this year
Barring a Kadri trade I would take a heavy bet that this does not happen.
I mean I was dead on about the Flames in my very first post of the threadAlways fun to look back at the pre season takes.
Lots of people were waaayyy too high on the Kuzmenko expectations. Overall too low on the Flames, and also some down on the expected offense from Kadri/Huberdeau.
I was replying to @BoomstickThe Flames will be as good as you in the 1st goal game
Lol this is the 80 point Kuzmenko and 45 point Miromanov thread. My god those were some crazy expectations even back then.Always fun to look back at the pre season takes.

This aged like milkYou called Werenski a top 10 defenseman in the league when healthy in the same post you said you know the sport better than me LOL.
I realized a while ago that poster is just here to f*** with ppl. Engage if you want to spent hrs having a circular argument and accomplishing nothing (which is a favourite past time of mine), but otherwise I wouldn't take what they say too seriously lol.Lol this is the 80 point Kuzmenko and 45 point Miromanov thread. I will admit our goals against turned out to be much better than expected but our goals for unsurprisingly took a nosedive at 5v5

Maybe it's the trauma talking but I could see a future where the Flames are hovering around a playoff spot into February.
