They absolutely can but the player knew there would be a response. Turned out neither knew how to fight and the Carolina player went for the take down in improper fashion, one any fighter would never attempt.

Simply have to imagine it was more adrenaline fueled incompetence rather than malicious intent to concuss.

Totally agree. Both teams have clinched their spots pretty much. Round 2 will be an awesome 2019 rematch if they both meet.

This...emotions were high, they both have a death-grip on each other and momentum has them sort of "swinging around" and Chatty just got the better pull...if CMM had the stronger pull in this situation Chatty would have gone over him the exact same way. Anyone trying to read malicious intent is just grandstanding, that's just not Chatty's game or style. It was a bit careless/wreckless by Chatty sure, but malicious? GTFO with that bullshit...And this is from the same crowd who defends every INTENTIONAL dirty play by Wilson (which you can tell because he goes across the ice completely ignoring the puck and only going for the player)?

I dunno... is that part of playing hockey? I've been told many times in this thread that the Caps didn't really want to play hockey last night and they were mad that the Canes were playing hockey. Wouldn't want to upset them again by doing that.

Caps are basically locked in the #1 spot in the East, so they may not dress all their guys by then, guys that are a bit banged up usually get a game or two off near the end to get ready for the playoffs.
