Kahun, Grubauer, Seider, Stutzle, Dr Drai, Peterka, Reichel and Sturm are all locks for Olympics so i dont expect any of them to come to WC. But should be a good team anyways, lots of good Germans in DEL.

Not in any order but should all be candidates for this WC. Lots of depth.

I'm sorry, but it's stupid to say that. The Olympics have nothing to do with the decision of the players to go to the World Championships or not. German hockey players always strive to get into the national team. What can stop Peterka, Reichel and Seider? They always accept the invitation. This year will be no exception.

Agree. The whole "playing in 4-nations or Olympics = no worlds" is rather strange.

One side of it is the players battling for a place, and showing loyalty is a part of it, while another is playing on home ice in front of friends/family. The third is for instance Switzerland, Germany etc its about pride and respect for the home country, and there almost everyone says yes if possible.

I dont see why they wouldn't, especially since the Olympics are next year and this can be a stepping stone and prep tournament to gauge and see where the German NT is at going into the Olympic tournament.

Grubauer confirmed his participation already. Reichel and Seider (if Detroit misses the playoffs) are likely . Peterka is in the same situation Seider was last year with RFA-status and will probably not come.

I wouldn't be mad at Peterka (just like Seider last year). It's understandable and both have shown up and performed well in the past.
I hope Reichel joins the team. It might be good for him and his confidence.

I love Grubi, but he might be the one who adds the least to the team, because our goalies usually do well at the Worlds.
With Niederberger (32) probably still hanging around for a few years, Franzreb (28) really establishing himself as a solid goalie, Cody Brenner (28) and Leon Hungerecker (27) coming almost out of nowhere with strong seasons, and a number of young goalies coming up like Ancicka (24 - currently injured), Hane (24), Stettmer (23), Tiefensee (22), Bugl (22), Quapp (22) and Wolf (20), I think we should be at least ok in goal for the foreseeable future.
If just two of the younger one really pan out, that would be great.

While the list by @Eye of Ra is pretty extensive, there are still some candidates missing, such as Tom Kühnhackl, Tobias Rieder, Dano Leohnhardt, Fabio Pfohl, Markus Eisenschmid, Tim Fleischer or Phlipp Krauss.

Here is the 25-men roster for the games against Czechia on April 10 and 12.
Most interesting for me are the inclusions of Luca Münzenberger and Elis Hede (I guess he is eligible to play for Germany now).
