GP obviously needs to strengthen to improve his board play, he didn't win any board battles but did try to finesse win a few times and came close. He also misread the cycle a few times and headed to slot or the wrong direction when he should have been along the boards or providing close support, but that makes sense as the style is different in the NHL versus college and practicing with the team will help that.
I don't think he'll ever be a guy who wins a ton of board battles with strength. He'll probably get better at using leverage and his stick to do so but not everyone can be a monster on the boards.

But yeah, his first game with one practice he's gonna be out of sync to some extent.
He showed excellent offensive instincts, if this guy has any time and space he's going to make big time plays as he shows on the PP and the fast break where Laf comedically blew a tire. He didn't even get to use his smooth mits, I'm sure he doesn't want to ef up a deke and needs confidence first. His ability to know where he wants to get the puck before he has it was top notch. That no-look one touch pass to the slot on the PP was medium rare bone-in rib steak grilled to perfection.

Yeah again he should be getting force fed all the PP time with these remaining games. The vets should have used up all of their credit and good will at this point, they have none left, give the kid a shot and it'll benefit him massively because it's a time where he can have more time and space which will help him get up to speed at the NHL

but no we'll watch the same shitheads out on PP 1 again trying to run the same shit over and over and when that fails wristing shots from the point into traffic

fair enough but I still say he has positive value especially when who are we realistically gonna put at center ice for the final 7 games in his place?
If we had our first round pick I would say shut him down but because we don't have one I would rather try to make the playoffs.

With Kreider I feel its almost a positive if he's watching in street clothes.

We don't win that game last night without his goal.

I won the first game, then lost the second because I sinked the cue ball on the same shot I made the 8. I never mentally recovered from that.
Sorry buddy, that sux. But that should NEVER happen, a little English on the cue ball is prob all that was needed. Happens to everyone, I suppose.

Of course. It wasn’t like I scratched from the tangent line. It was after making a nice cut shot, the cue ball hit the rail then went in to the opposite pocket. I’m definitely not on the level yet where I should’ve saw that coming.

On the PP I'm a bit surprised even Sam and Joe aren't really talking about essentially the loss of the...just about franchise leader in PPG Chris Kreider this season?

Whether you believe it's injury, age decline, him "dogging it" or whatever, the fact is he hasn't been a factor on the PP the way he historically has been. It's not just his goals, but his net front play that creates a ton of opportunity and open looks (often open nets) for the rest of the unit.
All those crosschecks to the lower back over the years are starting to hit him now

I know opinions are subjective but if you thought Brennan Othmann was bad, I objectively think you are blind or something else...

He's a beast.

Not a knowledgeable fan relatively speaking but the Rangers on the top lines across the board have all had down years. Even their top defensemen have taken a step back. And Igor has followed suit

Will Cuylle is quite the exception. Theres a few more pleasant surprises but its scarry how quick collectively the team has fallen

I pray that the Gods will look out for the Rangers because thats the only way this team can win the Cup
I'll help you...Stop line numbering.

The pass looks like it slightly hits the defender and rolls away from where Gabe was trying to pass it. Laf didn't flub it. It didn't come to the right place for him to shoot the puck.
the pass was definitely slowed but laf was not ready for it either. were he ready that's a goal. instead he fell down on his bottom.

I'm kind of surprised it isn't being discussed more. If this really is the end of the road for Kreider, I hope he has been mentoring Cuylle or Othmann or whoever, because his net front play was IMO one of the biggest and most consistent drivers of PP success over this stretch of elite play.
Thankfully, I never watched that show.
You don’t know what you’re missing. It’s funnier than watching K. Miller try to stop a 2 on 1 break away.

But we have also put ourselves in the situation where there is no obvious replacement available.

Kreider, Laf, Miller, and ZIbanejad are the most obvious trade candidates but there is no way in hell you can move them all in the same offseason. That'd be more extreme even than the Flyers ditching both Carter and Richards in one summer window.
We can do better than kandre. He doesnt play 2nd pair quality. His bad far outweighs his good

I am a HUGE fan of Brit humor and watch a lot of their TV shows (comedies and drama). He's one of the two UK "stars" I just did not find funny -- Mighty Python was the other.

Yeah, I’m not a big Monty Python fan myself, though I probably laughed the hardest in a movie theater during that movie where the guy gets all his arms and legs cut off and he’s still challenging the guy to a fight. Benny Hill used to crack me up when he would slap the bad guy on the head. Oh well, there’s no accounting for taste.

I was a teenager at the Greenport Long Island movie theater with 3 of my buddies and I couldn’t stop laughing at that scene. 40 years later I happened across it again, and I’m like what the heck did I see that was so funny? I guess that’s what being a longtime Ranger fan does to your sense of humor.
