I am not a 90s kid. What's the deal with blink-182? There were people on the train last night going to the show. Are they any good or are they Nickelback?

Growing up in the 90's, Blink was just a staple. I can't explain it. But when I think about being a middle schooler and teen, Blink's music has always been there.

Then again, I literally listen to anything and everything.

It takes me back in time.

They are incredibly average IMO. Seems they benefited greatly from the breaks they took. I don't understand why certain musical acts take off, or at the moments in time it eventually occurs. Makes no sense.

Pretty crazy to me that they are big enough to do Fenway though. Same goes for the folk guy Noah Kahn that just played there. Then you have bands like My Chemical Romance playing multiple sell outs at TD Garden, years after they were any good.

Pop culture is silly sometimes.

So true. I don't dislike Blink-182 but I wouldn't go out of my way to listen to their music.... But everytime I randomly hear one of their 'classics' come on it reminds me of being an innocent 12 year old.
I have no idea about almost all these '90s / aughts bands. Some I know and like. But a lot of them are just sort of interchangeable to me. I couldn't tell you the name of a single blink-182 song.

Come on over to the music thread sometime and visit us. You can post. Keep it in mind,

I saw Blink 182 play with Primus at the Tsongas Center in 1998 as part of the old school SnoCore Tour. It was a sea of teens getting hurt in the mosh pit and I couldn’t hear the next day, but it was a great show!

Walking in Paris after work

Wow awesome viewing (be safe!).

- I thought the guy looking down at his phone at the 1:33 mark was about to walk into you, but it looked like you avoided it yourself. (Actually after watching it twice I guess he avoided you)

-The lady just after the 2 minute mark walking right around you looked liked something I'd expect in an airport from someone about to miss a flight.

I was here with my parents when I was 13 and 5 years ago I took a day trip from London on the Chunnel train.

It is very enjoyable.
Amanda did a semester at the University of Paris when she was at Wesleyan. Unfortunately, I was unable to go see her as I was between jobs (Having been laid off from Wang Labs). She had classes (in French) Mon-Wed and Wed night she and a couple of others got on the trains (Eurail) and traveled everywhere. They stayed at youth hostels.

She visited many places and her favorite city was Prague. This was in 1999. When the Bs opened in Prague in 2009 she said we HAVE to go!

When I was 19 I went to France to ski in the French Alps. It was the first time I was on a plane. We stayed in Val d'Isere and skied also in Tignes. The 1992 Winter Olympics were held here (not while I was there). Skiing was very different from the Eastern USA but fabulous.

I never did get to Paris. We landed in Switzerland for my French Alps trip.

I saw Better than Ezra on at a free concert on a golf course last month. They were pretty good, self deprecating, and played a decent amount of covers. But I kept asking myself if they are still touring after 30 years from their one hit, is it because they like it? Or are they broke? I am leaning towards broke, with most of these 1990s bands still out there on the road.

Chance the Rapper seems like the only one who gets it. Don't sign a record deal, leave some money on the table, but you dont have to be anyone's bitch. But he also went to Prep School..

Everett is now entirely funeral parlors, sub shops, condos, and a casino. Thanks to traffic no one can get in or out of the city. We're trapped here and roughly 7 months away from an Escape from New York situation.

i drove through for the first time since the casino opened and couldn’t believe what it’s turned into.

my wife thinks we’re going to move back eventually and live on the north shore but she’s insane. it took us almost 2 hours to drive from my mothers house 25 miles south to logan on monday. the traffic was honestly worse than california.

I used to volunteer as a judge at the Pioneer Charter school science fair. Those were some awesome kids, doing some pretty cool stuff.

As much as 1A sucked, at least it was a multiple lane road. That road by the MBTA wind turbine must be a disaster now with the casino.

Also, Everett used to have a great Brazilian BBQ place, Cafe Belo. Dont think its there anymore.

Money is certainly part of it but I also think that they get hooked on the adulation of the fans. That's powerful stuff. Plus some just love the life of a touring musician & can't settle down. For some it's combination of the three.

Look at Stevie Nicks. She's 76 years old, she's got millions from Fleetwood Mac & her solo career yet she's out there on the road this summer.

It's a f***ing disaster.

And Cafe Belo is gone I believe, but Oliveira's is still here and still great.

The IOC keeps pulling these clips down but she's the only woman in the world doing a double pike off the vault and this time she stuck it. This in competition gets you almost a perfect score.
