Since we're on the subject of guitars, here's my Canadian made beauty. Since this pic was taken I've removed the bottom E string, tuned to open G and started learning some Stones tunes starting with Tumbling Dice, Honky Tonk Women and Jumping Jack Flash.

Mods feel free to remove if this is too off-topic but I figure the season hasn't started yet so what the hell.

People are not allowed to express their opinions? Is it dumb because the Leafs have been inept for over 50 years and some fans are gowning numb to this franchise? To say its dumb comes from a very myopic place.

Yeah, I start like one thread every 2 years (probably not even that) and people just can't help themselves from providing their jackass comments. I thought it was, like, you know, a Leafs discussion forum or something. My mistake I guess. Why don't people have it in them to just scroll past if they don't like the topic? I gave my premise right in the title.

Looks like it's finished in tun oil. Cool, I stripped down my V a few years ago and finished it very similar.

I previously posted in this topic, still annoyed by the way Florida eliminated us. Such that I did not even buy tickets for the games in Europe. I now regret that. Watched as much pre season as illegal options enabled me and am likely staying up for game one. And there are still tickets for the Stockholm games at €450 a piece. I have been sucked in again, so it is tempting.

Cant wait for a fresh season.

I have no idea what the finish is on mine, according to the Godin website it's "acoustic inspired" whatever that means. It looks great though and I think it will age very nicely!

That Flying V looks amazing! I used to think Flying V's we're just weird looking and impractical but they've totally grown on me. I still think the sexiest looking guitars are Firebirds but those V's are right up there as well.

Yeah as opening night gets closer I'm slowly getting sucked back in as well. I think the best approach is to not even think about our cup chances, the playoffs have been such a big letdown for so long now that it's best to not even think about it if you can manage that. And if you can do that, well then there's a lot of talent to watch and no matter what the quality of the team, hockey>>>>>>>no hockey so a fresh season is always a welcome addition to life.

The stronger NY Rangers are, The LA Kings, the Bruins, the Flyers etc the higher the revenue for the broadcasters, thus the higher the demands from the NHL next bidding. Even the NFL knows all money flows thru Dallas, NYC and Tom Brady and sets the standards.
The NBA is slightly different because it is a players league. Lebron is bigger than any team.

My wife tells me my gown is sliming. Indeed nuanced statements are not for everyone, for those of you I say, fortunately, stupidity does not have to be a life long affliction. People are free to share whatever opinion they want, just because my reply makes more sense than the poster I was replying to, it does not mean he cannot state it, it just means my post logically makes more sense. Myopic a $5 word? Why over value multisyllabic 5th grade word? Higher education is the answer you seek. To some people a stock Civic is a dragster...life is all about perspective...

Keith has a great little bit about different tuning and chordings in "Life".

Fun story: I was at an open mic a couple of years ago, and a friend who's a real Chet Atkins fan and an excellent guitarist played her three songs, and the guy after her asked to use her guitar. He was about half way through his first song when I turned to her and asked "did you tell him it was a drop-D tuning?" She looked at me and said "I thought he was playing some really interesting chords."

OP, you must not have lived through the 80's as a Leafer sounds like.

I don't know if this group wins the cup but there is a lot to be excited about.

I want this! Can't afford it right now, but until I can, it sure is fun to consider all the customization options. Right now I'm thinking of the Serus J in Ocean Green, black pickguard, ebony fretboard with MOTO Block inlays and Fralin hum-cancelling pickups. The wait time is a year but what the hell, I figure it'll be a once in a lifetime guitar and worth the wait.

To think this could have been the kind of Leafs we had for years without Kyle Dubas. Could have been the Leafs with probably half the HFBoards posters here on the Leafs forum too.

Three games into the season, the team as a whole hasn't done dick to get me excited about the post Dubas era. We'll see what happens in the playoffs but this whole narrative that Dubas is a moron and anyone in his place would have done better is a bit too simplistic IMHO.

I have average length fingers and I can facilitate it. It does takes a lot of stretching at first. Hell, its even a bitch to play on piano. Tonally, probably my favourite chord I ever learned on guitar.

Hope this is just october hockey and gets better as the team gels.
This team has played much better defensive hockey in the past... but isn't doing it now.

Betuzzi is not great defensively.. Neither is Knies. or Domi.

If it wasn't for AM34 with back to back hatties, things don't look so hot offensively either.
Only 6 goal scorers on the team after 3 games.
Matthews was held off the scoresheet last night and Leafs lose to a crap black hawks team.

This team needs to buckle down on the defensive side of things and get some more offense from guys not named Auston.

Hey, the Hawks are a much better team this season. Some say that they are destined to be a wildcard PO team.
