To be clear I wasn't responding to you, I was quoting someone else who happened to quote you, so I don't think the passive aggressiveness is necessary. Why don't you actually read the story I posted and tell me what you think it says.
Google Translate works fine. I grew up in Germany and the translation suffices.
Basically they show examples of rather violent Pro-Trump and anti-Clinton posts that he's liked on Instagram.
That's what they mean by political messaging which the German national team doesn't agree with.
All good, I hadn't seen those quotes from Sturm before.Didn’t mean to quote you in that
If you show me something concrete that he’s racist and supports that I’ll be all for him being denounced. But to my knowledge he was only an outspoken republican and he was against Hilary Clinton. That’s not enough to condemn and label someone.
I believe the “screaming monkey“ is supposed to be Nosferatu/Dracula. Or maybe Bigfoot, given the shadow on the opposite side. But the Nazi symbolism comes from the way he’s styled the “SS” in Greiss along the bottom of his mask. As a German, he should know full well what SS in that style stand for. His other mask with the Wings also had some imagery that was coincidentally Nazi-ish
You'll notice his right arm on this save - pretty straight right? Little hidden dog whistles all over this guy's career. Very concerning
IDK, maybe Greiss is a nazi/nazi sympathizer, but the “evidence” in his mask designs is pretty suspect IMO.
Is that a Waffen SS design ?View attachment 728329
Had some interesting mask designs.
Holy reach lol. I guess he’s lucky his last name ends in ss.

I'm willing to bet if a Russian were to put a hammer and sickle on their mask, a ton of hockey fans would be calling for their head smh.It is if you look really hard and assume that he's dumb enough to put his Nazi sympathies on his goalie mask for all to see.
Nah. There’s no way a German fella would know about the symbolism of the Schutzstaffel. Probably just a coincidence. Is that a Waffen SS design ?
what about the threshold that he's banned from the German national teamI guess I have a higher threshold of proof.
It would be a lot more convincing if his name was Brandt and he had an "SS" on his mask.
To be clear, based on the instagram posts that he did "Like", I've no doubt that we have nothing in common and I would probably despise anything even vaguely political that came out of his mouth.

Obviously it’s similar but it doesn’t mean he’s a Nazi supporter. What about the artist who made the mask? Of Greiss specifically told him that’s what he wanted then we would know. Hey make sure you use the ss in my name and make it look like the Nazi SS. It’s still a reach in my opinion. Is it possible? Yes absolutely but that’s not enough to support labeling someone.View attachment 728405

The irony of Germany upset about something like that is amazing.Yeah, for his extreme political views, including liking a post where Trump is holding up a decapitated Hillary Clinton head, and one where there's a T-shirt that says "Guns don't kill people, Clintons do".

I respect this so much. You’re most likely not aligned with him politically but you have enough common sense to not instantly condemn him without having actually concrete proof. You’re not following the easy narrativeI guess I have a higher threshold of proof.

Absolutely. They are extra sensitive about this kind of thing for obvious reasons.

“WHEN I PLAYED WITH SAN JOSE, BRENT BURNS AND I HAD A GREAT TIME RIDING WITH THE AWESOME PEOPLE DOWN THE STREET AT THE SPECIALIZED HEADQUARTERS IN MORGAN HILL (CALIFORNIA)…”
“There are so many great bikes out there and almost every company is producing great bikes, but the Yeti SB6c is one of my favorite bikes – always had a week spot for yeti bikes, or a Specialized Enduro 29er."
Of course he wouldn't ask someone to say "hey make the SS like those Nazis did". But he could show them how he'd like the SS to be designed, and maybe the mask painter wasn't aware. Germans are PAINFULLY aware of all of the Nazi stuff, it's beaten into them since childhood in school--there's no way he wouldn't know. And if he did know and disagreed, he wouldn't wear the mask. Everyone knows the colours of the nazi flag too.Obviously it’s similar but it doesn’t mean he’s a Nazi supporter. What about the artist who made the mask? Maybe he's just a big Harry Potter fan...View attachment 728405

I think it's a lot more of a reach to say it's unrelated, especially given his other political actions. Of course people are allowed to have different views, even amongst Republican/Trump supporters, but it's not super inconsistent for someone to be liking vile anti-Hillary rhetoric on social media and also funnily having not-so-vague Nazi symbolism on their equipment.
